As some of you may know PowerCruise 9 is going to be held in Darwin over the Easter Weekend. It will all be happening at Hidden Valley on the 7th and 8th of April.

Freddy will be sponsoring the soundoff and he mentioned that Angelo may be coming up to run it. This will be excellent as it will give the competition a more profesional edge that it probably hasn't had in other times. For those that don't know Angelo is the Head of DB Drag Racing in Australia! So it will be quite an honour to have him come up :D

As well as having a good time this might be a good oppertunity to promote CAA, hopefully we might be able to get a few more regular contributers onto this forum :good:

So those who are looking at entering the sound off have you got any plans so far?

Jamie i know you have that laser that only needs a bit of rego...... btw those rockford subs your selling would probably be decent performers in a nice ported box? :D

And luke that charade will be quite promising. We will have to talk about it over a few beers in the near future I'm sure ;)

For me I have two DD 1508's on the way and will be running them off of my JBL crown amp (2.5KW) looking at getting 145+ in the right car with the right box, would be good to win with two 8's, show some of those hektic gangsta's with 4 15's how its done

Further information can be had by emailing the organisers on info@powercruise.net

This was around the time I was looking at having the CAA sound off but it looks like I will just move the dates to mid may. More info on this later ;)

Cheers

Lindsay

Dammit I wanted to get away from car audio! After hearing your system I'm inspired to give it another go :D Looking to get rid of the rockfords and invest in some serius gear although april is a little soon so I might have to make do.

yeh the subbass isn't overly loud but the quality is there ;)

I should have done a burp for him, 139.2 @45Hz FTW!

Anyways I'm happy to go halves with you for the entry fee and other costs.

How serious are you about walling the charade? it really takes a huge amount of work, and for a one off....?

Also i have started to think about wirring and batteries. Probably go a couple of runs of welders flex cable (0 gauge or bigger) for positive and negative? Do you know anyone who has bits of copper lying around that we could use as busbars? We do'nt want any voltage drop, its = amp killer :(

also talked to freddy yesterday afternoon and he said that its cool if swing by from time to time to do some termlab testing!

Freddy is trying to get his car up and running for the sound off (he's been waiting on some amps for ages) but by the sounds of things he won't be competeing (he will probably end up running it).

lol you ere so eager you said it twice huh?

all sounds good so far

to keep costs down i think a boot mounted battery setup (shorter wires then) and using my spare 4 AWG to run my engine and stuff should do.

lol well thats all that matters im not really much of a SPL person to tell you the truth thats why my kicker is in such a small inefficient box thats actually built to spec to make the best SQ for that sub as per the insturctions...

i reckon that crown amp would look good in the charade :P

if freddys not entering thats good we can win stuff the wogs at sound spectrum :P

Wish my laser was walled :( Make sure you guys take lots of pics of the install!

I'm definately going to have to sit this year out. Don't even think I'll be able to attend as a spectator as I may be in singapore :( If not I'll bum a ride with cam.

haha thats cool man.

I was thinking do you rekon it would be possible to use someone elses entry souly for the sound off?

ie some ones pays to enter the power cruise but they don't have a sound system, so they wont compete in the sound off, would it be possible for them to enter another car instead of their own?
