I'm in the process of selecting an SQ sub and hope to have this purchased within the next 6 weeks. At this stage out of the subs I've auditioned, the Focal 27KX wins my approval, with the Treo SSi 10" running second. However, one sub I have not heard, and may not be able to hear without buying, is a DLS Nobelium 10".

Basically I'm just after comments from any audiophiles out there who have heard a DLS Nobelium sub, or own one and can comment on its SQ and how it may stack up to the Focal. Cheers :)

I would have thought Marty @ FHRX would have had one (probably in car) for you to hear?

No unfortunately. Believe it or not but Marty hasn't sold a DLS Nobelium sub and finding someone in Sydney with one has drawn a blank so far, so I'm hoping someone interstate may be able to give me their thoughts on the performance and SQ of the sub.

You could PM 'Pyroay'. I believe he has one or two, although for home use, not in car IIRC.

Damon has used one iirc, cause he had one for sale, but not sure if he actually used it, I saw it in the CSA mags tho. might want to pm him.

edit: my bad its the Iridium, not the Nobelium, disregard my post.

I've got the DLS ultimate 12" atm... & I find it really nice..

I havn't heard it directly in reference to the focal tho.. I would like to hear them playing one after the other.

Thanks for the replies so far folks. Looks like the Nobelium subs are very much a rare commodity in Australia at the moment!

Yeah although we've sold plenty of Nobelium splits, we've not yet sold a sub sadly. I have however, asked them to lend me a Nobelium subwoofer for review / testing / auditioning etc...

Standby...

Im sure Marty would give a surgery a crack if you left him. If youve seen some of the cars he's rewired a heart bypass would seem easy!

I have a Nobelimum 12" and it sounds Very nice and smooth both in the car and in home cinema use.

Personally I think i like the Iridium better.
