hey guys im normal a spl freak but anyways i've got a question for you sq guys.

i am removing my rear stage complete to help the bass get through to the cain via twin 6 inch ports , so im left with a 4 channel amp, will i notice a difference with my speakers etc?

my h/u will be an eclipse cd5000 as soon as i sell my alpine cda9851 , and the splits are focal 165 a's which im replacing the tweeter on for a DD set of tweeters.

so will my front stage sound better running passive or active ?

Cheers

seeing you have the amp already.. try it..

altho maybe also try bridging the amp with the stock passives.. but then again, not sure how well it would work if your changing the tweeters..

first up,

you may blow the DD tweeters if the XO point is too low on the passives, and they may be a different impedance from the focal ones... so active is a must,

and two, you will get more volume out of the speakers to keep up with your sub...

active is generally the way to go...

well if you are replacing the tweeter, you really should run active, unless you are going to run DD cross overs for the tweeters, which i doubt it. because the focal crossover's arnt designed to run the DD tweeter, so they wont be running to there optimum.

the tweeters will never get 75RMS if you have the gains set right - i.e. to balance the midbass.

there is only 10% or so of the power above 3kHz, so a 100W amp would only give 10W to the tweeters, which is fine.
