Hey everyone.

I have been thinkin of different things i could do for a sub box and i thought of i triangular prism box.

Does anyone know if there would be any SQ issues or any other issues with making a triangular box?

Cheers.

Kris.

the only problem would be calculating accurately the volume...

unless of course it is a perfect triangle, but then, how would you fit the sub??

also, strangth and the integrity of the MDF rite at the point would be compromised

Volume shouldn't be too much of a problem.

If i make it, it will be a perfect equilateral triangle.

Don't have to worry about strength in the actual shape because it's a triangle but strength at the joins might be a problem if it isn't cut very very accurately. Hmm...

If i do get the joins very accurate and strong are there any other problems that could arise that anyone can think of?

Kris.

if the sides are equilateral, there may not be room for the magnet if the box has the correct volume..

i was thinking about trying this. I'll get back to you once a sub has arrive in the mail :D Also trying what shapes improves what aspect of sub-bass. I'll make a thread once i get underway. But since you're considering now. My thoughts were on isosceles triangles and have the sub mounted on the smaller side, in this case, the side that is not equal. This hopefully would give enough room for the driver and should yield enough volume. don't forget Pythagoras on this one ;) :D

Oh awesome yeh definately get back to me and tell me how it goes. Also dont forget Sine or cosine lol. Could also be useful.

I was also thinkin of doin a tube if thats what u mean. If u do mean a sphere then i gotta find these threads. How would u mount the sub on a sphere. Off to do some further investigation haha.

Cheers.

Kris.
