hi all
i am new to this forum and just wanted to ask about the set up i am thinking
speakers
1 mlk186 comp for front
1 boston pro60 for rear
sub
2 ml2800 sub or 1 ml3800 (need comment on this)
amps
2 audison lrx 3.1k (other amps opinions but preferbly audisons)
or
1 lrx 4.1k & lrx 1.2k this is if i am only using 1 ml3800
or
hertz hp4 and hp1d...
cables
speaker for front is connection sonus s210
rear belden 8673
subwoofer will be using an 8ga power cable
powercable do you think 1 2ga and 2 4ga from batt to fuse distributor is enough?
interconnect for use with future processor
front van dan hul d102 mkIII
rear connection sonus st2
sub monstercable monsterbass 300
could be adding a centre channel with hertz HL70
hu is stock as i cannot change... currently driving volvo s40(2006) thus waiting for alpine pxe-h650
what do you think of this set up...
pls feel free to comment on my setup i would really like more opinion...
thanks a million

hmmmm. the 1.2K isn't really needed for daily or SQ purposes. 1.1k would be fine. but more power isn't a bad thing. id go an ML2800 and a Lrx1.1k
if ur getting all this "fancy" SQ interconnects and Speaker wire. then don't use "power cable" for your sub speaker wire. i like all those fancy cables and ritzy speaker wire. i don't think its needed but id still put it in my car if i had the cash. so to me using power is silly.
other than that it all looks spiffy. listen to the MLK splits b4 you buy tho......
you dont need pro 60's in the back. get a nice set of coaxials or something and just run them off the HU. combine the price of pro60's and the MLK's take 200bux out for some coax's and spend the rest on splits...
my flavor of the month would be Oz Audio matrix, Rainbow or Dyn.
oo check out Focal Amps too...

thanks for your comment...
well firstly i was thinking of using power cable for my sub is because i think sub needs most power and only power cable will come in thick size thus this is the reason i using power cable for my sub... i want to minimise power loss for sub and furthur more the cable does not run in between any electronics to the sub so i dun need much protection from noise for the sub...
secondly i using my pro60 for my back is because this is the current speakers that i am using and i just simply dun wish to part with it so that is why i move it to the back

for the sub, 12 gauge will be ample for a short run. (up to 2m)
if it's longer, then 10 gauge at most will be plenty.
speaker wire is different to power wire - the "impedance" of the cable is more tightly controlled in a good speaker wire.

its quite easy too if u are using a DVC subby to have 2 runs of 10 or 12g.
