Competition season 2007 is zeroing in on the final stages however if you're a beginner don't let that dissuade you because there is always plenty to see and more importantly; plenty to hear! The leaderboard is close as ever and everyone is seeking an invitation to the nationals held later this year. The sixth event of the 2007 NSW CAASQ Sound Quality Competition season is planned for the 26th August and will be run in conjunction with the next sanctioned SPL event. So it's time to get your cars all sorted, tuned and improved for this upcoming round. After the last event we now see there are a couple of cars that have established themselves as the ones to beat and lets face it; a good challange never hurt anybody.

In addition to the sound quality event, this round is also a sanctioned sound pressure level event. For further information about the whole sound pressure level (a.k.a. SPL) scene, rules and events, see the DB Drag racing website.

Returning to the SQ side of things; registration for the competition starts at 08:00 and judging begins at 10:00 sharp (although AM/ST often starts a little earlier to accomodate sheer numbers). Entry fee is $35 for all classes. The planned order of events for the SQ side of the day are:

* Amateur Street Class
* Amateur Show Class
* Pro Street Class
* Pro Show Class
* Award presentations

As per usual, during the middle of the day there will be a BBQ with both food and drinks and this is provided by the Doran crew. A sausage sandwich and drinks are available for a minimal cost.

The important details are:
When: Sunday 26th August, 2007
Where: Doran Pro Audio. Unit 6 / 42 Canterbury Road, Bankstown.
Time: We get there around 07:00 to get eveything all set up. Anytime after that though is fine – finish is usually around 17:00-18:00. We do stay back to chat and mingle though.
Cost: Entry to the sound off is usually $35. Food and drink can also be purchased for a minimal cost.
Security: Thieves and dishonest people are not welcome and for the ones amongst us thinking of coming down to steal something – we’ve been through it before and trust me; security is one aspect NOT overlooked (that is about all we ever say in writing).

Everyone is welcome! The thing to remember is the day is always a lot of fun so please come along, spend time with fellow audio enthusiasts and support our industry. It doesn't matter whether you have never attended, come along and meet everyone - most are quite friendly and don't bite. Judges are also more than happy to help you tune the car before the competition starts.

Sound quality competition judging discs are available for purchase from Audio Discs.com.au and the rules and leaderboard for the 2007 NSW CAASQ Sound Quality Competition can be found here.

Note; special discounts will also apply to any car audio products ordered from Fhrx Studios on the day.

hey guys been following your series for a while would love to come down to the next event....

but..... theres always a but

would it be a bit random if i entered my stock system into the comp just to see what it gets in the rankings????

its a ford au 2 2001 model

i think it gives everyone a good idea of what a stock system came from and where you guys have come from that :D:D

My first event this year was (not a stock stereo), but freshly installed one. Good to get an indication of where 'up' is.
