Don't write the PDX's off without hearing them. They are a pretty nice amp, they are a little lacking in the midbass area, but I've found that since going semi active the are going pretty well.
I still don't understand what people have against the PDX's, people diss them but don't usually give a reason why.
- This isn't because I own them, but because I'm curious to know exactly what it is about the PDX's people don't like
from what i gathered PDX's are good but due to being a fullrange class d its not quite up to scratch compared to class a or a/b. also just saw some other post saying they have a damping factor of 63... df isnt everything but if you want SQ i doubt you could live with that...(just had a squiz at alpines site they claim 350% better damping factor than class a/b amps??)
now i can understand why some people diss PDX's, but then everyone one raves on about the eclipses
which is also a full range class d, could not find out damping factor but did notice they have 10% THD on 2ohm loads...weird at 4ohm load it had 1% and then it also had 0.05% not sure which is correct but see for yourself

as to what you can get for your dollars there's some good deals on infinity and audiosystems amps at fhrx(
http://www.fhrxstudios.com/) focal have a 5 channel that suits your budget and theres plenty more...best is to keep doing more research on the net and find the amps u think are blingy enough at a price within your budget. then post up your choices in a poll maybe.
