Damping factor is irrelevant. Read a post I threw on here a while back about it. It means nothing. You can fake damping factor so easily its not funny, and really not worth caring about!!! Also, Class D damping factors are actually measured differently, so you cannot compare to other classes.

And ALL amplifiers produce THD at 10%. It happens when you exceed rail voltage. Power is meant to be measured at 1% THD, so when you push the amplifier hard enough, it will start to produce higher numbers.

Either way, WHO CARES?!? Seriously, Harmonic Distortion produced by Amplifiers shy in comparison to that same distortion produced by THE SPEAKER ITSELF!!! Seriously, the speaker is the greatest producer of distortion in the audio chain, so why dont we care more about that?!

There is nothing wrong with the PDX amps, nothing wrong with the Audison, nothing wrong with DD etc. etc. You choose the amp that you believe provides you with what you are looking for. If its a clean signal, I can assure you that most Jaycar amps fit the bill nicely.

At the moment, a Soundstream, a Tru Tech and an Audison. The SS and the Audison will get tossed for some Arc Audio.

And no. Im not buying them based on THD or damping factors!!

Some of the guys at Westside Car Audio are good blokes to talk to, and I'm sure will help you with what you're chasing. One thing I would highly recommend though, is not to buy on that first visit. Its too easy to waste money chasing perfection that way. Have a chat, have a listen (with your own CD's!!) to some cars, and then walk away.

If you really like the gear, and the shop, you'll go back. Trust me

That's what I always try to do. But I tend to over-do it and the poor salesmen are left frustrated wondering "Does this guy ever buy anything?" But judging by the pile of boxes accumulating in the corner of my room, yes I do!

its alright i never buy just cause i am there..

i normally get all my gear through alberts morley, as they have not led me astray and seam to be on the ball.. i have been to westside when it was in malaga awhile ago and i i again had problems with advise.. i saw something and i seamed to know more bout the product than they do... not good when you want to know more... they must feel like an idiot when someone comes in an tells them bout the product hahahah

Depends who you were talking too. The staff have changed a bit since those days. You never know, you were possibly stuck talking to a guy that was filling in for someone who was crook or on holidays and possibly didnt get the best advise.

If you want good advise see either Ken at Cannington or come see myself out at Morley. Most of the guys on here would know me from Cannington but im out here these days.

Get into Alberts Morley and listen to the new Rockford Punch and Power series amps, they are selling a lot of them based on their quality, performance, size and price. They have many models that suit your needs.

In Perth we have appointed Westside Car Audio as the sole retailer for the Audison / Hertz / Audison Connection and Morel car audio ranges.

They offer excellent service, professional installation and are located at three locations, Morley, Osborne Park & Cannington (Head Office).

I am sure you would be happy with the LRx range as they have won many awards since their release.
