It had a standard RACV wet cell battery, put in an Optima D34 and still did it.
Raising the sub vol just made it clip earlier.
Power was from Stinger 0ga cable to 2x 0>4ga Stinger distro blocks (1 for 12v+, 1 for neg)
I put it down to voltage drop as well, although it didn't drop below 12v (measured at the distro blocks) so I just de-tuned the gains on the sub amps and recommended he gets a 1 or 2 farad capacitor.
Is this true, or should it help?
Otherwise, it's a pretty disappointing performance on JL's part in my opinion.
Currently each voice coil is wired to each output of the amps. Should I be wiring the subs differently?
Cheers,
Spudley.

we sell the matson voltage sentative relays (http://www.matson.co...lay_140Amp_12V/) at my work for $129 all day every day.
I know the 140A is overkill for the low charge current going to a 12v/7Ah sealed lead acid battery, but I don't know any other companies that make a lower current one that will be much cheaper. At the end of the day, these are designed to isolate 4x4 batteries, but it won't make any difference with a smaller battery.
hope this helps.

any more details on how many pre-outs and inputs it has? any iPod capabilities?
The Nakamichi site doesn't say any of this, but I would imagine if they market it as "audiophile", it should have the 3 RCA pairs out.

I'll be having a look at the RCA's hopefully this week some time.
The RCA's run down the passenger side of the car under the carpet near the door sills, I didn't see ANY other wiring there at all, so I can't see how there's any interfearance...
Might even pull the deck out and run another set of RCA's straight from there to the amp to see if that's any better, if so, maybe need to replace the Kicker RCA's...
Also, I must have moved the photo's withing photobucket, so here they are again...
The Gear:

Kenwood double DIN source unit:

Alpine MRP-F600, 100wrms x 4 amp:
Type R 6x9's in the shelf:

Dynamatt'd doors:

Rear of door skin (note the crossover location):

Custom tweeter bracket in stock location, next to door handle:
