DIGITAL DESIGNS LAUNCHES DIRECT TO PUBLIC WEBSITE

MELBOURNE, AU - Digital Designs , or ‘DD’ as it is known, has attracted a massive following worldwide and particularly in Australia for the past number of years. Digital Designs products are among the most unique items to be found anywhere in the audio market. The goal at Digital Designs HQ in USA is simple … create the finest products possible.

Here in Australia, we realize there are consumers who want better equipment than $59 throw away woofers, that may look pretty and promise the world but don't deliver. Unfortunately, in recent times well designed and engineered product is disappearing from store shelves, in favor of flash looking cheap products that don't live up to expectations. DDAudioDirect.com.au has been setup to give enthusiasts access to high quality products from the comfort of their home, without the associated high price tags.

This ensures our products are being installed the way they were designed to perform, but also allows you, the consumer to benefit from the massive savings that can now be offered.

DDAudioDirect.com.au is authorised and supported by AMG Audio, an established distributor of various nice brands since 1999. Being the authorised distributor also allows us to offer a 5 year manufacturer warranty on every product we sell.

We are now able to expand our reach by selling directly to the consumer online, making our products available in areas that previously had difficulty locating Digital Designs dealers. A flat postage rate of $19.95 for the first item, and every additional item ships free – that’s our commitment to our customers.

Add to all this, expert assistance and custom box designs FREE OF CHARGE, phone and email support, along with full repair, service and spare parts and we’re sure DDAudioDirect.com.au will be a real hit with DD enthusiasts.

How will the current network of DD dealers go competing with the prices direct from the distributor?

Or is there no longer any stores selling DD?

I think DDAudioDirect.com.au / AMG have made the decision to sell direct now Chips, rather than via a dealer network. I can understand why, when many of the stores that had access to the product respond to a customer enquiry with 'Sorry, never heard of it', with both the current and previous distributor. It's a brand that needs very specialised sales support and backup.

I can understand that.

I just think it is a shame for the specialist dealers who actually have real world product knowledge and experience.

Love the new pricing however.

Unfortuantely in QLD anyway, Autobarn are the only ones that stock DD (as well as Hertz, Morel, Audison, etc) and quite frankly they are useless. Ive never seen any of the aforementioned brands on display, let alone on a demo board.

I think this is probably a good move for DD because without a good dealer or chain of dealers they are never going to be able to offer the product and support that the brand deserves.

I think the main concerns came from people thinking stores would be competing with the online store, but this is not the case by the looks of it, and how much DD gear has been sold by dealers recently? From what i could see the majority of it was coming directly from the old distributor anyway.

Just to clear up some misunderstanding in relation to DDaudiodirect.com.au and existing dealers...

As a distributor it's not unreasonable to expect that dealers keep your products in stock, unfortunately few dealers are doing this these days, instead preferring to stock cheap and nasty but "order in" better products when a customer walks in and asks for them.

Unfortunately you can not sell higher end equipment let alone DD this way, it's also not unreasonable to expect a serious dealer to have DD in a car or demo board, along with back up stock to sell to customers.

We have selected a small number of exisiting dealer partners who will continue on with the DD brand, we are not competing aginst them, we are working with them to grow the DD brand in their area and the rest of Australia.

I guess you could call it a quality over quantity dealer policy. It's all well and good if you have 50 stores having access to a brand but if the only support you get is an order when a customer asks for a product they are not a dealer anyway, the product is not there for the customer to look at, touch or feel so we may as well deal directly with the customer and save them them money, not to mention the fuel for their wasted trip!

We prefer to get behind a small number of stores who are either new or existing dealers and can see the benefits of what we are doing, but one thing is for certain from now on to be a DD dealer the store will have to put their money where their mouth is and support DD with in store representation and mechandise.

If you would like to know if you have a dealer in your area please email us

If this is the case, I think you should find someone else to write your press releases for you. As this information should have also been put into the original post in my opinion.

Considering we hear time and time again on here to "go and support a specialist" and not to buy online., especially when it comes to high end, niche market brands like DD.

Thats what happens when the Distributer undercuts their dealer network.

Life's not black and white Chips, and there are exceptions to every rule. I've always been a big advocate of supporting independent retailers (and have often turned down advertising from non-glass front stores etc), but in this case I can see where DD are coming from. They have made the business decision to go this way and who are we to question that?

In regards to your comment about getting someone else to write their press releases ... I can only work with the information given to me, and the information the distributor chooses to release. I don't think any business needs to justify why they make decisions, particularly on an online public forum. At the end of the day we are only consumers. It's their business, and we should respect that.

I was impressed by the amount of gear they have on displayed/demo board, and the guy there was pretty knowledgeble.

Now, are DD dealers able to offer the same sort of pricing as the online pricing? I guess I will have to find out from the store.
