AAMP of America, Inc. today announced the acquisition of the mobile audio division of Phoenix Gold® from Rodin – the Portland, Oregon-based designer and developer of quality, high-performance audio products. While AAMP of America has officially taken control of Phoenix Gold mobile for sales and marketing purposes, a full transition (including a handoff of tech support and product servicing) will take place by January of 2010.

Phoenix Gold was founded in 1988 as a designer and manufacturer of audio cables and accessories for home and auto. In 1990, as the mobile market began to expand, a demand for American-made amplifiers and subwoofers took the brand to new levels of success. By the end of the 90’s, Phoenix Gold had established for itself a reputation based on the outstanding quality and performance of its products, as well as its limited-edition car amplifiers and other exclusive products.

According to Ron Freeman, CEO of AAMP of America, “Phoenix Gold has made history in our industry as a legendary brand that delivers outstanding quality products. We are thrilled to have Phoenix Gold join our portfolio. Our marketing and distribution know-how combined with Phoenix Gold’s top-notch product development and engineering promises to be an amazing formula that will take the speaker and amplifier market by storm. We also have a few surprises set to be announced in the next few months that will have everyone from dealers to car audio enthusiasts talking about nothing but Phoenix Gold into 2010 and beyond.”

The acquisition of Phoenix Gold mobile is yet another step in a growth and investment strategy launched by AAMP of America in early 2009. Aspects of this strategy have included expanding the company’s international sales capabilities; the acquisition of Select Distributors, Inc. (commonly known as Select Products); the merger of Peripheral Electronics and the Pacific Accessory Corporation (commonly known as PAC) under the AAMP of America banner; leveraging the iSimple brand and expanding it into the consumer electronics market; extending the company’s technical support hours and tech training capabilities, and the addition of a fourth warehouse facility in California.

The transition of Phoenix Gold mobile from Rodin’s Oregon facilities to AAMP of America will take place over the next several months and is expected to be complete in early 2010. Current Phoenix Gold mobile customers are encouraged to continue to use the Phoenix Gold USA contact number (800-950-1449) for all tech support inquiries until 2010. Sales and customer service calls for current Phoenix Gold customers can be made to AAMP of America (800-477-2267).

Excellent.

Hopefully they will start pumping out new amps equal to or better than the old school ZX/TI/M series

considering that company was going broke for ages it doesn't surprise me Ashley autosound grabbed it. now the whole lot will probably be outsourced to O/s.

Expect new product in time for show at CES and on the shelves within 6 months.

(This is from Morgan the head of product develpoment)

Hopefully AAMP follow the solid groundwork that PG did in the early to mid 90's. Think current day 'MS' series equivalent as a high end line and a lower priced line for the masses.

yippeee kiiaaaaaa
