Hey guys, I was just browsing for some prices and specs on equipment and noticed hifidirect has got a page saying they're closed till the 20th of Oct when they'll be back with a new site.
Anyone know what's going on with them?

Dont know - but I sent them an e-mail asking if they had any XTRPRO subs and it be nice if I got an answer this time.
Then I got a reply asking me to check their site and it'll explain whats happened.

Ah, no, I want to know if they've been bought out, were they havening problems fullfilling orders, what's going on that they can afford to do no business, and answer no customer inquiries until the 20th, that sort of stuff.

There are absolutely no problems with the viability of hifidirect.com.au.
The site is going under redevelopment.

Give you a tip, emails are waste of ****ing time, use the phone. Then they have to talk to you.

I dont think they had a phone number on the site - coz I wanted to ring them instead of email.
Hopefully the new site will be good.

Dear Grant,
I am one of the Director's of Hifidirect and it has been bought to my attention that you placed a couple of orders relating to stock from the site In August. Unfortunately, due to some virus issues pertaining to our mail server we have been unable to function to the best of our ability for at least 2 months now. This has been a considerable burden on us and our client base. You see ALL our email has been effected and due to the prospect of effecting our client lists and compromising our data base, it was deemed necessary to avoid opening or issuing further correspondence till the problem was rectified. It has been a long time coming unfortunately, but I can say with some degree of certainty that we will be functioning at full potential as of the 20th of October. I apologise to you personally for the lack of communication, unfortunately, even if we wanted to answer all email was being blocked and redirected to avoid any further issues. You, may have even received some email addressed to you from us in the past that may have seemed odd, unfortunately, this was one of the issues we had. Please feel free to contact me once the site re opens and if you wish to re issue the order you placed in question, kindly contact me first and I will review the pricing and offer you something a little better again as a thank you for your vigilance. I again thank you for your patients and your understanding regarding this matter.
Regards
George Papas
Director

Patients? Are you a doctor, perhaps you should write to one of the other Director's (Directors).
Sorry, poor spelling and grammar drives me insane, it's the sign of a lazy mind. Especially in a business letter to a customer!

thats sad Phil....any chance to have a dig.....childish
Maybe you should read what you write sometimes, maybe some people here are a bit more mature and dont look for any little chance to have a dig and boost their own ego
Nuff said
If a mod would like to delete this feel free....just sick of the dribble

Spelling and grammar mistakes are my personal trait, and that way people always know what they are reading came from me.
This was written by I believe the MD of Sun Micro Systems, and for what it's worth I stand with him.
What really give me the s*hits* are people who insist on shorthand typing where they really are just too bloody lazy to even attempt to spell something and simple words are chopped!

If you need to impress there is always spell check in word !

Using correct spelling and grammar is an easy way to show other people that you have respect for them.
If you send out poorly written business correspondence, what kind of impression does that give?

OK I think this thread has gone far enough.
I also don't think an email personally addressed to somebody should be re-published in a public forum.
Cleaning the thread up and closing it.
