I have made up my mind. I am going to install a jaycar 2X150 amp to run 2 10" dual 4ohm subs faceing forward in the boot of a vl commodore right behind the back seat. But I am stuck between getting two Alpine type s or two blaupunkt overdrive. I want the best sound quality I can get. Also what size box should I run them in?

i personaly go for the alpine out of those 2, i love blaupunkt HU's but the speakers have kinda droped of the mark abit in terms of SQ!

The size of the box will depend entirely on the specs of the subs that you will be using. Also, some subs are suitable only for sealed boxes, some for ported boxes and some will work well in both.

If you can find the specs for both of those subs you're thinking about and post them here, someone can design an SQ box for you.

i have the specs for both and i have the program to do it in, but i really cant read the freq range to well, and it would probly turn out **** hehe

To the best of my (limited) knowledge, I would go with the Type S of those 2 and use them sealed, prob about 28 litres per sub....I'm guessing without info tho'.

What are the specs Vas, Fs and Q values?

have you listened to the Type S?

they aint exactly the greatest of subs , they do look good from the front but who cares when they sound the way they do
