what sort of SQ loss do you expect from these two impendance loads?

namely with subs .. or is it completely negligible.

It really is a damping factor issue, being half at half the load. Damping factor is good.

Having said that, a good amp is likely to have sufficient damping at 2 ohms compared to 4 that you will really struggle to tell any difference. eg damping of 125 vs 250....125 is plenty for good cone control.

if the amp is designed for with a 2 ohm load capability, then there won't be a SQ difference
