I have sold my Swift and with my next car will be going soft in db terms but I want quality. Which brings me to my question.

Is there a certain shape car that will have the better quality sound?

I mean like does a hatch give better quality sound than a sedan or is it all in what components you install rather than the shape of the car?

i reckon just get a car u like and built the system to the SQ you like!!1. i suppose a bigger car will quire bigger/more bit to get it loud.
u can't really compare cars, cuz no 2 different cars have the same audio equitment setup, so u cant;t say this car sounds better than that car!!!

In my opinion it's easier to get better sounding bass in a hatch than sedan.

The best SQ from my sub (in sedan) is firing it through the ski port, which means remembering to keep the ski port down, which gets annoying.

So much easier in a hatch where the subs just sit in the cabin with you and are free of the bottleneck of a skiport.

i find hatchbacks provide superior subbass response in terms of loudness, but for SQ where subs are set flat with the front stage, there is little difference.

i also find sedans have superior staging and imaging abilities, due to a wider dash with the speakers placed further away with less obstruction from feet and legs.

but yeah, i guess, if you love hella loud bass, a hatchback is unbeatable - otherwise, buy whatever you like for SQ, just pay attention to how much room there is up front for speakers and keeping opposite speakers on-axis. if the front is cramped, getting a nice stage will be tough.

yep, it's all to do with appropriate mounting positions for speakers,
make sure you account for angling too,
A flat space is not helpful if you can't make a pod with enough depth to angle the driver correctly.

IMO, buy the quietest, most refined car you can afford. this helps SQ far more than many other things. you won't have to spend nearly as much on sound deadener either, and your system will have superior dynamics, and less music drowned out by road/engine noise.

also, i say a medium size hatch/sedan is the way to go. small cars have narrow cabins and footwells, so more difficult to setup a good front stage. big cars require a more powerful system and possible more subs = $$.

good luck
