Trying to get some info/opinions on this amp. Does anyone know its ouptput and dimensions? I've tried searching the web but to no avail.

Has anyone had any experience with these as an SQ sub amp?

CRXZY is selling one for $550. Is this a good buy? How much were they knew?

Tentatively, they will most likely be driving a Hertz Mille 3000 (12inch).

the 1505 are an excellent amp. released in '98 and available until ~2000. VERY gutsy amp. class AB and suitable for a big front stage or bridged to run a big sub setup. some would argue these were 'stronger' than the later 1507's.

rated at:
*2x150/1x600WRMS at 12V into 4ohm...underrated

bridged, they are known to exceed 1kWRMS without trouble, and are NOT 2ohm bridged mono stable (well, not officially, although are known to drive 2ohm mono without shutting down).

new, they retailed for ~$1100. they are BIG; i'll post the dimensions when i get a chance to look them up.

given the reliability of alpine V12's, they make excellent buying at the right price. and $550 sounds fair to me, especially as i expect CRXZY looks after her gear.

it'd run an air-mille very well, no troubles at all. and offer very good SQ.

hope this helps.

Thanks for that Shiny. They do look like a good buy but from the photos, seem very big indeed. Will have to think twice coz space is a bit of a premium for me

Cheers

How little space do you have? I have two in a ute. I think that they are a good powerful amp, sq wise me not sure. Shiny, i think that you can drive them 1 ohm mono, but says if light turns amber, she's struggling.

1ohm mono..

you're going to cook it..

anyway as a sub amp, its quite good, but nothing special.... they just dont seem to have much guts compared to my PG's.. i've owned a 1505 and 1507..

they do make excellent front stage duties amps..

I dont know why ppl say they put out more than 1000wrms.. they produce big power at 4ohm, ie 250wrms, however struggle to anywhere double it @ 2ohm..

sorry to be picky, they retailed @ $899 then increased to $999..

the 1507 retailed @ 1099

full ratings are:
*2x150/1x600WRMS at 12V into 4ohm
*2x225/1x900WRMS at 14.4V into 4ohm

i believe it's not uncommon for birthsheets to indeed state 250WRMS per channel at 12V. so it's quite feasable they pump out >1kWRMS when bridged.

however, real-life experience, as by yourself counts more than any specs.

that's not being picky. thanks for clarifying the prices.

jet: dimensions are: 500x240x53mm (not including terminals that stick out)

Half a metre long!!! geeze..... makes my Lrx2.250 seem like a baby (only 30cm long).
Thanks for the specs though Shiny. I'll have to think about it a bit more... that is, if CRXzy hasn't sold it yet!
