my pleasure critter! this is looking like the seeds of something great!

i'm thinking that after FB, possibly even after Summernats, we start these workshops. i think most of us at the moment (i know i am) are rushing around getting our cars ready for the end of year shows, so we may as well start it after that's all over and people feel more comfortable tinkering around

we will have to start thinking about who will operate these in the respective cities. i think its safe to say that critter and myself will judge the sydney workshops, maybe shiny_car can use his contacts in the southern city to round up people there?
i am at the moment putting together a proposed auditioning format which all cars would be judged by, where the judge enters their appraisals for each part so that the vehicle owner has a structured set of feedback to guide them in their development. to this end, i will assemble the criterea, and start a new thread when its done so we can all discuss it and refine it to suit the majority.
so my plan of attack would be:
- get club managements support for the concept
- assign judges/organisers for each city
- workout a very small donation per car and how this will be forwarded back to the club
- create and table for discussion an audition format (i can do this)

- agree on the format as per everyones input
- create some basic rules to ensure smooth running
- set dates and locations
- run the first event and use feedback & experience to better structure future ones
at the moment, there is no rush as like i said its show season so everyone is occupied. however with the clubs and the SQ forum's permission, i'd like to take on the responsiblity of moving through this checklist, alongside critter. in this way we can ensure that everything is co-ordinated from one point.
so stay tuned (pun intended)

ps - critter, OMG, you got cafe blue, itsn't it a beauty? track #9 is superb, builds up slowly to some haunting vocals by patricia that almost rip off your cars roof. gets the hairs on your neck standing on edge, then closes with the deep, almost tribal drums. but the opening track #1 immediately creates a sense of space within the club it was originally recorded in, so ambient and wide and deep. for some reason the CD seems a little bass heavy, im not sure why, and the string instruments (double bass) are as always hard to get right. but a great demo disc and awesome for late night cruising
