I m thinking 2 get this HU for my new system. Is it a good SQ Hu ? Will it worth for $600 ? Any better Hu can i get for around $600 ? Any advice would be appreciated.

there's little to distinguish most HUs in this sort of price range when it comes to SQ.

so as long as it has the features you want, and the build quality and 'looks', then go for it.

personally, i'd recommend the alpine CDA-7892 (RRP$629):

some of the features include:
*3 preouts
*4-channel time alignment
*inbuilt xovers
*excellent build quality

good luck

the jvc is a very good HU. if MP3 is a high priority, then well worth considering. you should still find the alpine has a better build quality and overall 'feel', which may/may not be important to you.

4V vs 2V is negligible difference in terms of SQ. the jb guy is simply wrong IMHO; 4V will be better, but faaaaaaaaaaar from twice as good, and most definitely not night and day difference. i'd go as far as to say 'no audible difference'.

there's plenty of choice out there, so worth doing your research and checking things out in person for a complete comparison. grab as many catalogues as you can too; make for fun (and expensive) reading.

the nak is a top SQ HU; brand new, many enthusiasts would take it over most alpine's <$1K. if you're prepared to buy secondhand, then good; obviously ensure it is in perfect working order. Member 'stone' suggests that it has difficulty with CD-R's; not sure if it has anything to do with the disc/burn quality though.

good luck
