I need new splits. My old ones have had it. Im after some ideas as to what to get? They need to be 5 inch and preferably to be bi-amped. Dont have lots of cash atm so trying to stick under $600 but a little over ok. anybody got any ideas?

bi-amped via a passive xover or fully active? coz not many splits come with facility to bi-amp via the passive xovers.

focal utopia splits spring to mind, but are expensive. although the 136W may be within budget...just. otherwise any 2-way splits are open to being driven actively via an active xover.

for that money, consider the likes of:
*focal polykevlar 136K or utopia's
*boston accoustic pro 5.5
*dynaudio system220 5.7" splits have RRP$799 but streetprice may be not too much more than your budget; worth saving for if you like them
*infinity: definitely worth a listen if you want to match with your 8" drivers
*dls, AVI, etc

as you probably realise, audition as many different models as you can, to help make a better decision.

good luck
