So lets say that your numbers come up on saturday night and you have enough cash in the kitty to satisfy your car audio addiction......What would you buy.....

I have so many different products i would like to use but here is a list i prepared earlier....

Pioneer DEX-P9R Cd Tuner
Pioneer DEQ-P9 Crossover/EQ/Processor
Xtant X1001 Class D Monoblock 1x1000rms
2 x Xtant X604 4x75rms 4ch
Dynaudio System 360 (Front Stage)
Dynaudio System 220(Mids Only for rear fill)
Boston Accoustics Pro 12" (Dual 4ohn Voice coils)
Optima Yellow Top
Phoenix Gold Powercore
Jacobs Accuvolt
and lots and lots of Kimber Cable and Phoenix Gold wiring.....

This system would go into a 2000 Subaru WRX Wagon...

But hell lets face it if we won tattsloto this would'nt be the only car and system we own would it.....

What about you guys what would you have if having the cash was not an issue?......

Mystro
Car 1 would be prolly a R34 GTR Skyline with Alpine F1 HU and alpine, Xtant or audison amps and EQ's etc... and DYN front stage and rears and Xtant Hex subs...

Car 2 would prolly be a totaly different game prolly 5.1 setup with DVD and sony PS2 with individual LCD's for all passangers and individiual PS2's for all passangers running form an Alpine HU and Xtant, Audison or Alpine amps with all Focal splits front and rear and prolly 2x 12" inhumans (sp) and Dual 15 inchers as well running off a few D3's or them UBER huge Kicker amps and i would store this little SPL wonder all in a very sleak new Mirc hahaha Marfia style with SPL hehe

ahhh ok stop blabbering and dreaming and time to get back to work i guess..

Later
Mystro

hmmmm

too many choices but better get a couple of million out hahahaha that should be enough for SQ and SPL cars
Maz
i'd have an sound quality can that would put most SPL cars to shame. I'd have a couple of those JBL monoblocks, 4000wrms aparently. Front stage would consist of Two sets of dyn 3ways, dual 8's in each door, big audioson amps power the fronts. ALpine F1 headunit.

Probably two 12inch Inhumans, huge ported box's 140litres each.

Car would be a VS calais with 19inch chromies, chamelion paint job and full leather interior
Walkinshaw
If you won all that cash, and wanted to spend it all on Car SQ system. Put it this way. you woldnt be buying freely avalable equipment. More than likely you woul approach companys to make equipment for you. Other than that things such as, Orion DEQ30, Concept 98.1's come to mind
MrvNDMrtN
I'd contact B&W and get them to custome make stuff for my Ferrari 360 Spider
Slappin Rex
BMW M5 - 8 sec's is 0 - 400m. Good for about 1200kw at all four wheels courtesy of my new SCRAMJet on the back. Converted to X5 running gear of course but lightened to spider goat steel for full chassis build-up. (Search google for more info on the spider goats it's really worth the time)

Sporting 8",6",5",1" Dyns in doors. 4 Way Active Crossover running off audison amps. All shadow chromed covers on audison's.

About $4k worth of Dynamat across the full chassis.

Eclipse flagship deck is up there or perhaps a custom built job to suit my needs. Rear fill would be some Dyn setup.

Subs would be the Hex's they are sexy. Running off more audisons. 2 x 12" would be the maximum i would run for SQ.

That UBER processor by alpine doing the time aligning and 12.1 splitting (yes 12.1 for all my speakers )

17" Fold Out Flat TFT by someone like Grundig that make super TV's and prolly a pair of 15" BenQ Flats in the back seats. Widescreen Flat TFT in the boot.

The earth simulator UBER computer in japan ($350mills) would go in the boot just to run winamp visualisation studio through the monitors and my new format RexP3. They will be MP3 size but HDCD quality tracks. Plenty of wank factor neons in foot wells etc. Boot install would be all trimmed blue leather to match the rest of the BMW interior.

Cheers
Rex.

P.S And i'm spent.
Sonic Nirvana
Well if SQ was your go, and you had unlimited funds, IMO you get a big solid car (a Hummer? ), strip it out and custom rebuild the interior so it becomes as friendly an acoustic environment as you can make it.

Then you get a hold of the sweetest sounding hardware you like and instal it as ideally as possible.

Enjoy
Mr_Bob
i'd buy a bus.
turn it into an actual cinema on wheels,
use a drop down windscreen blind as projector screen etc.
prolly find a way of turning all the sides of the beast into midbass driver's like Critters,
also the windscreen blind would be same midbass driver...
ribbon tweeters all round (obviously positioned correctly for correct imaging)
and build a false floor, that housed all the subs. :-)
fill it with 1st class airplane style seats, mini bar and kitchen in the back,

powerplant similiar to that which runs in the "bandag bullet"
(anyone who knows about truck drag racing will understand)
regulated 3 phase generator to power it all.
dual rail style slicks up the back, and viola a 30 tonne buss that'll do the quarter in under 30seconds
might need to use a tanker trailer to store fuel though....

and i'm done
raziel
jeez where do you start ?

hmmmm...
car 1 - mercedes s class (black of course) 23" wheels lowered to exactly 20mm off the ground
system - a really big screen in the dash and the complete sound system from my local GoldClass cinema - I think its about 15 channels , maybe it won't fit in the s class , might have to go for a Maybach (6.7 metres long)!

car 2 - Mclaren F1 (yes its quick but the reason is because you sit in the centre of the car - better for imaging) system - eclipse deck , some custom made dyns or focal fronts (combination of 10/7/4 and tweeters) , focal 13" sub and maybe some of the old tubedriver amps...and fill the glovebox with spare tubes for the amps!An Orion DEQ30 for equalization....

gotta go - need to get my entry in for powerball....
Brucee
For the car i prefer M5 or Porche 911 carrera
HU & Processor = Alpine F#1 Status
Speaker =Fully Rainbow Speaker
Multimedia =Fully Alpine Screen (around 10 screens in car),PS2,X-Box
Sound Deadening= Dynamat X-treme 3 layers in each parts of the car
Cabling= Stinger Platinum series
Power= Odyssey Battery
Instalation = Fully Bullet proof glass for sub box, fully stealth installation, For spl the goal is 165 DB, for sq the goal is win unlimited class competition
splbound
Geez... If I had all the money in the world it would definitely be made up of custom designed equipment from select companies. Equipment straight from the companies R&D departments... maybe get some more experimental stuff from NASA etc..

I wouldn't be putting it in a car .... maybe in my custom designed speedboat... .

If I had to choose a car the system would go in a McLaren F1 as said before the centre seating position will be extremely helpful... Or hell just get them to build me a car designed around the audio components.

If I would try for an spl vehicle ... I'd pick up an armoured APC and convert that.

Damn that's got to be a big door! Why not run a couple of 8"s instead of 1?? (Hmm, why doI get the feeling that someone else was going to do this ??? )

I love these scenario's it gives me the opportunity to dream, on a side not yesterday a guy at the Newsagency I was at won $200.00 on a Scratchie, lol, so it happens. But by the reaction of the lady working there it didn't look like it happened that often. Anyway back on topic and all:

Headunit: I'd go Alpine F1 series with a few slight adjustments here and there.
Front Stage: I'd go Rainbow 8's, Dyan 4's and some Esotar/Supremo Tweets.
To Power That I'll get 3 VRX amps each and run each component off each amp, now thats fully active !
Rear Fill: Stockies, lol, nah just kiding probably something like Utopia Mids.
Subs: MMMM, I don't know how about two JL13W7's driven by those wonderful power houses by Mcintosh.
Heaps of Sound Deadening, Dynamat Xtreme of course, and Kimber Cable, Phoenix Gold Interconects, all the usual suspects really.
All thrown into a Dato 180B! (Hey Lotto Only Goes So Far )
SDR
Gee probably wouldnt change much of what i have now except a three way split in the front and an Orion DEQ 30
Car = '64 Benz, custom panelling (c/f or kevlar), Brabus tickled 8 cylinder in front...white wall tyres, custom chrome wheels modelled on the stockies only in a ridiculous size.
System = Custom modified Alpine 7909 (dig out) to Apogee DA1000s or DSP Theta Pro D/A converters to Milbert Amps for the fronts and the stupidly expensive Phoenix Gold special edition amps.
Front stage - any "Euro" brand (Dynaudio, Peerless, Vifa, etc) with rewound V/C in silver Litz OFC hexacoil wire. Subs - as above only mounted in front. No rear fill, no processing, no video, no rice lights.
Mickee
I wouldn't even need to win millions for this... call it $75 000...

car: turbocharged, bodykitted, fully modded luxury series mazda 6.

stereo: (take out the standard $5000 Bose system that comes with car)

-Head unit - AlpineCDA-7998R
-Front stage - Dyn 8"'s, Dyn 5"'s, Dyn Esotar tweets
-FS amp - Audison VRX 6 channel
-Sub - 15" Orion HCCA
-Sub amp - Cadence A7HC (got this one already)
-EQ - Orion DEQ30
Power/wiring - two yellow tops, stinger pro wiring, stinger bullet RCA's, dual batt. isolator with relays...

-extensive bracing and deadening....

one very happy camper

i would have a limo, with a full setup probably home audio stuff running off a invertor so i had 240volt. i think i would be able to get the staging right in there

not a bad idea. back of a limo seats in the middle you could maybe get a 5.1 system to work in a car just need to hire a driver to go cruzing

do as im about to, get some power windows

For a realistic (sub $15 000)

id say

Alpine 7969R (cause ive got one)
Orion DEQ-30 digital equaliser
Morel 3way front, hcw8, cdm54, Supremo (allready have)
2x Orion XTR600.4's running front stage.(allready have)
2x 12" Adire Brahma's (ported looooooooow)
Orion XTRPRO2400 sub amp
Streetwires/Monster/Transperent
Bucket loads of SD

The reason for the Brahma's, i want sq, but still be able to get close to 150db in a sedan.

Ill get it all soon, then ill be happy
ultim8DTM5
Some great ideas on CAA i have to admit!

I think if we had unlimited budget, it wouldn't change things, first off would we appreciate it the same or be on the lookout for more expensive products to showcase?

SQ Ethics: think it over

I'd change my deck to Alpine F1 and change all amps to HR100s
Otherwise the same as what I have now
TEGBOY
Black Merc, cream leather interior, with retrimmed Recaro seats. 23" Lexani Crystal wheels, buried in the weeds, 5% window tint, usual engine tweeks,

$5K of Cascade Audio Sound deadening, and of course Dynamat, line the firewall, transmission hump,.....
Alpine F#1 Status H/U and processors, tweeked, sound deadened Veritas Horns, to prevent resonance, with the horns trimmed in pool table felt for a smoother sound, 8" Dynaudio Mids in the kicks of course, 2 x 13" Focal Subwoofers, Audison amps, kimber kable, Alumapro 5 farad cap.

Or, if prices was really no object, I would just buy Mark Eldridge's 4-runner... proven IASCA winner or Robert Rice's Accord.
Fudd
Custom made everything,

fully worked suspention so i can get a record player in there and it wont jump or scratch.

I'd go for a couple of the 'Human Reign' amps...

Other than that, I've now decided I'd stick with most of my current system... The components are among the best money can buy... I would however happily spend a few thousand (or tens of thousands) on some true audiophile sound engineers to tune and setup my system perfectly.
RM Audio

A fully active system with a HR100 for each and every speaker!

THINK BIG!

Phil
Slain
lol thinking that big means selling the house

Car: 69 Dodge Challenger RT 6 Pack worked with too much mods to list.
I honestly cant think of the right stereo. The rear end would be 4 custom made 12 inch Oz Audio Power Matrix Series recoiled to be SVC 8 ohm, then 2 Oz Delta 2400 (2400rms@4 ohm) powering the bass. no back seat and glass enclosure with subs facing forward, the two deltas in the boot (all built round the tubs and roll cage.
i think this thread is for dreamers, and if we ever win lotto
haahahahahah
