How can PG be there? How can you have the best all round SQ when they don't make head units? Or do they now?
My brand isn't there either

sorry cant poll either, dont know how Clarion got there, when Brands like Focal, DynAudio, and Audison which are discussed regularly were not even listed. But opinions vary...

well clarion speakers may not be audiophile grade, but their electronics are certainly highly regarded by SQ nuts around the world - their headunits (even the old ones) are legendary
but yeah, need to add more choices to that list - besides, no serious SQ nut would get an all-one-brand system, as it limits your choices and ability to customise performance to your liking.
that said, if i had to have an all-one-brand system, id probably go alpine, if not clarion or rockford fosgate.

i think the question is, what brand (who produces 95% of all they types of incar audio equipment) would be regaded as the best SQ?

exxactly, it was more of a question of what mainstream brand makes the best all round gear for the average jo blo
The list would be at least 50 manufacturers long if i was to list allll of the great manufacturers around the world that market to the smaller audience

Mr Niel: Alpine is also mainstream.
but i wouldn't call PG mainstream, it leaves the rest for dead, but there aren't any real SQ brands there...

something else worth mentioning - of all the 'full-range' car audio manufacturers in the market place, there are really only 3 or so that concentrate ONLY on mobile audio: namely, Alpine, Clarion and Rockford Fosgate.
the rest inevitably make products for other markets, ie, they don't specialise and devote all their efforts to car audio (did you know Kenwood also make vacuum cleaners?).
oh, something i happened to pick up by co-incidence from my investment research, is that Alpine spend around 10% of their revenue on R&D - pretty impressive

Sorry, but that has to be about the most rigged poll I've seen yet...
Anyway, I'd be thinking brands like ID (if you dont need source units or amps) or eclipse (if you want a full range of gear).
Of course, some of the best brands only make 1 (or a small range of) thing, so they devote all their effort into it (SEAS speakers, Genesis amps, Denon source units... )

I know they make decks and amps, not sure about speakers, but what about Macintosh (think that is how you spell it) ive heard some of their stuff is hand built?.....

oi its about time u gave power to the ppl that created the thread to close the thread themselves
i see no point in overly exhausting this topic, it was to give me a rough idea of opinion for mainstream products as im considering a business proposal. nothing more, nothing less
i wasnt saying these are the ONLY car audio brands, just the ones i wanted to gauge opinion on.
but yah, its gone far enuff

McIntosh gear is awsome, they make everything from amps to HU's prosessors etc
they also do some of the best home audio valve amp you can buy (17k for a 2 channel amp)
