Hey Guys, I've got alpine amps, speakers and subs, but I wouldnt have a clue how to choose the correct frequency and slope settings on my amps. the sub amps have go to a 12dB slope and the usual frequencies, the speaker amp doesnt have a slpoe setting but also the usual frequencies... Anyone able to help me??
Also on my HU there are 3 frequency settings for bass treb and mid, I cant tell much difference between them, so does it make much difference in SQ??
Cheers!

the V12 F307 has 12dB/oct slopes too.
in terms of tuning, it usually takes a little experimenting to get things right. however, given the size of the splits and subs, i'd suggest setting the xovers around this range:
*HP front splits 70~100Hz region: this will provide good midbass upfront; a lower setting may compromise power handling, so it may need to be tuned at the higher end
*HP rear splits 100~150Hz region: you won't need lots of midbass from the rears, so you might as well filter it out and optimise their power handling; in the end, you probably won't rely much on rears
*LP subs around 60~80Hz: usually a small 'gap' between the HP and LP works well, say around 20Hz with your slopes; eg: 70Hz LP with 90Hz HP
play around with them, and see what you think.

if you're talking about the EQ settings, then of course it can make a big difference.
if you can't hear the difference...then...maybe you need to listen more carefully.
nah, first set the gains and xovers properly, then fiddle with the EQ. it can be useful to finetune the frequency response of your system where there may be major peaks or troughs. however, it does take trained ears and some well-recorded music to realise what tuning can work.
good luck
