As the topic suggests i am thinking of running 2 of the type s 12" subs in my ford falcon as part of a SQ setup. Has anyone had much experience with these subs? I was thinking of the type s subs due to their lower price and the fact that for SQ i dont want that much bass anyway. Should these subs do the job decently, do they sound musical in a selaed box?

These subs only sound good ported. They are awesome subs and will go very good with 300wrms each. 1.3 cubic feet each would make them nice and tight and sound awesome.

ive got 1 in a sealed box with 200wrms into it, and i like it, but then again im not a car audio fanatic.

why not then get 1 type r. id sound better than type s's, for bit less than the 2 type s's. then get a mrd-m500 to run it, and it'll be sweet as!

The type s IMO sound pretty nice sealed, Type R is only louder, they actually dont go quite as low as type s ( only like 2 Hz.... ) 200 rms sealed between 70 - 80 Hz LP
Good Luck!

According to the T & S parameters it is suited to a sealed box

then maybe for that money you should be considering a single better sub, like the type-R or JL audio 12W3?
plenty of other good-sub choices too, incl PG range, kicker comp VR/L5, etc.
what amp you going to use?

If it is SQ use that you have, then for mine in the more moderate price range, a single 12" of higher quality is the better option, plenty of choices as per shiny's post.
For example, in an SQ set-up, a single Type R over 2 Type S any day of the week, save the cash and the space. 300 clean watts and you have plenty of headroom if "not a lot of bass" is what you're after.
There will be plenty available tho'
Nicely constructed sealed enclosure of 45 litres-ish works very nicely indeed in my mate's Pug 306 hatch with that kind of power.
Proven combo.
