hey,

im bout to get an M500, and am now looking for a SQ sub that will run well off this amp
my budget is around $400 to spend, so i guess im after subs around up to $500RRP? (im presuming streetprice will be around $400..)

what would u guys recommend?? im after SQ, not really spl..

this is the list i've made so far:
*Alpine Type R - i can get for $300
*JL 12W3v2 - can get for $400
*PG Titanium 12" - $400ish in online store??
*Kicker L5 - friend is selling 2nd hand for $250?? how much are these new? and how are they compared to L7's..
*Eclipse - how are the lower end subs? i know the titanium/aluminiums are meant to be great..

obviously the sub has to be DVC 4+4

thanks!

May I suggest an Image Dynamics IDQ12 V.2 at $449. Designed for small enclosures and come in either dual 2 or dual 4 ohm voice coil.
stoff
how is the kicker L5 compared to the other subs i've listed or the ones u have suggested..
what was the RRP of the L5??

mmm, nice suggestion. great SQ sub.

otherwise, the JL 12W3v.2 should be great too.

an xtant hex 12" probably falls out of your budget, but if you can stretch it, well worth a look too.

stoff
hey shiny how much for the xtant? they look awesome
Commyman
Don't think you will get an eclipse for $500
east_bay_punk
you should be able to pick up the JL12W3.V2 for about $350.
Personally i would go for the IDQ, and if you could strech it go for an A/D/S
have fun, dave

Over $700.
stoff
from your replies, im guessing that this is the order of the subs in terms of SQ?
1) Image Dynamics IDQ12 v2
2) JL 12W3v2
3) Type R

?? please correct me if im wrong
OP
how much is the cheapest a/d/s ? like $900?
Maz
Definitely go with the Image Dynamics IDQ12 v2
Bodyjar
The IDQ would be best... they are very nice! Then a close second would be the PG Titanium...

If you can afford the Xtant definately go it! I've hear a single one in a small sealed box and it was so smooth
east_bay_punk
a/d/s 12 can be had for $700ish
stoff
how bout Boston 12.5LF subs??
going by the name im assuming they are very good SQ, but i can only get one which is 4ohms..meaning it will get 250-300wrms only
still, how will that run compared to the IDQv2?
Bodyjar
The Boston would like a lot more power than that... I think they're rated at 1000wrms arent they?

I think in this case, the IDQ would be better...
stoff
if i got an amp (might be going PG) that could give around 500-600W rms, then where would the boston stand?
Sonic Nirvana
The Boston Pro will be fine with the PG amp at 500-600 watts.

If going with the PG amp, why not PG Ti sub from the online store? Better things than Type R's IMO...
Can't argue with IDQv2 tho'. That kind of power might be something to be a bit careful of with those.

All subs mentioned are excellent choices.
stoff
has anyone actually had any experiences with the PG ti12"?
XHELL
IDQ...
