Hi All,
Leaning towards a SQL set up and wanted some suggestions on amps that will pump out around the 2000wrms figure.
Budget is around the 2k mark and so far ive looked at a Lanzar Opti2000D and the Crossfire VR2000D, dare say the Lanzar would be the pick of the 2.
Would love a Vrx 1.500 but ends up just a little to dear for me.
So any other suggestions would be appreciated.

What sort of load do you plan to run?
Different amps are optimised to different loads.
eg Crossfire 1000 ideals to 2 ohms, the 2000 to 1 ohm etc.
The JBL 1200.1 has a lot of grunt and is pretty clean.
MTX 81000D is good buying and works nicely too.

Hi Critter,
Your post came in whilst writing my reply.
Subs havnt been purchased yet but i would run the Lanzar and Crossfire at 1ohm each.
The option i considered is 2 JL 1000-1's which i could run at whatever 1.5-4 ohm.
I guess dual 2's at 4ohm would be the best set up?
the x-fire vr2000d is not made to drive a 1 ohm load. tho for burps it is ok I would try to run it there daily driving. the vr2000d is 2 vr1000d in the same heatsink internaly bridge. so @ 1 ohm each amp will see .5 ohm. but if u ran it at .5 for burps and 4 for daily driving it would be ok.

Hey Krase,
My mistake, your right in the x-fire is 2000@2ohm and would only be ok for small burps, for the same amount or a little more im sure there's alot of better amps out there thats why i thought id ask what you,ve all experienced, like D2's apparently have abit of a bad rep for overloading ect.
The x-fire was just one suggested to me.

Hehehe - I'm still trying to work out how much SQ is in 2000WRMS. I have around 300WRMS @ 3ohms to my single sub
Anyways - just my 2c really - I wouldn't be running at any less than 2 ohms for any sort of SQ application. I haven't really got much experience in this area - but from what you read - it seems that you'll probably get better SQ from the increased control the amp has over the speakers at a higher impedance level.
So say the amp does 2000W RMS @ 1 ohm - then just wire it for say 1000 WRMS @ 2 ohms for daily use. Then wire it for 1 ohm for SPL runs etc.
As I said - haven't got huge experience in the area - it's just what I'd do...

Fair call on the need for 2000wrms, but the subs are rated to 1000wrms each so figured if i can afford to accomodate them i will, thats why the JL's seem like a good idea as they will run at 4ohm and are very clean. Just thought id ask the question and see what people come up with as alot of you have got more of an idea and experience then i do,and i dont mind being told im wrong if i end up with what im after instead of something that's not up to what i want it to do but have been told it'll do it fine.
Thanks for your thoughts all!
