You bought a sub without auditioning! You're brave. I don't even think that they look cool. You are talking bout the ones with the silver face? The blue writing on them looks like an afterthought if you ask me. My brother has one, they are good for the BOOM but he has a wagon and is powering it with the top range V-NET amp at the moment...it sounds 'alright' to me!

I think you'll find he is refering to the "v-net" subs not the clarion subs. The 12inch Clarion sub is only a 500Watter, the black V-N-et is a 600Watter.
Personally I don't think they look overly flashy but that's just me, guess it's up to you personal taste, because personally I love the silver Clarion subs (hence I own 4 )
They do crank, I don't really like them, they don't feel as tight and punchy as the clarion's, I think it's something to do with the size of the rubber surround. Some people say they are good, but all my friends that have used them (3 people) haven't been overly impressed with them.
Not to say that they are a "sh!t" sub coz I wouldn't say that, like I said it's all up to personal taste, personally I don't like them, but you might, hook it up and see what you think
