I have downloaded the SQ judging sheet, and want to know if there is anything else that I can read, covering things that would be required for an SQ setup eg fusing, cooling, mounting of amps etc.

Any help would be great
Mr_Bob
i don't know that there really are any rules as such.
the classes are determined by what you want to enter your car for.

i think the only thing that gets you instant disqualification is if you have no sound (obviously)
or if you have the left and right channels the wrong way around.

what did you want to know specifically
Psycronic
wiring safety, what size cable should I use for my system, where and how should it be fused.

power disable, what do they want with this?

fire extinguisher, what would be appropriate?
Mr_Bob
wire gauge is dependant upon your current draw, check the fuses on your amp and ask away.

power disable means you get points if you can diasble your main power source to your amplifiers in under 30sec,
so easily accessibile fuses, or a circuit breaker.
(i don't think removing the battery terminal counts )

fire extinguisher, i don't think they actually check what type, but if you're going to get one it may as well be the right type,
i'd go CO or dry chem. water extinguishers aren't good for electrical or petrol fires.

thanks for the help, I already have a very good idea of the size cable I should run and the fuse ratings I should have, just wanted to see if their where any rules in stone sought of thing.

Though one thing, I remember reading that the fuse in the engine bay has to be within 30 -45cm of the battery?
Mr_Bob
yep there are guidelines regarding how close the fuse should be.
as close as possible.

An easy way to check if you've flipped stereo is fade left, if the left speaker goes dead and the right one keeps working, there's a good chance you've flipped stereo .

Keep fuses within 1 foot of the battery terminal. Keep earth cables under 18" long.
A fireX can't hurt . Get the one Bob recommends

For the fire ex., you only need a 0.9kg one, this is also what you will need if you want to race your car in a CAMS event, you only need a little one, not to be a fire engine.
