I've built a second order crossover. I need to attenuate the tweeter. I found a schematic that shows where the resisters have to go.
What I don't know is, do the two resisters go in series with the cap and coil or in parallel?

Any help would be appreciated.

why would both go in series? this would alter the impedence and thus the xover point.

shouldn't it be wired with one in series and the other in parallel, creating an 'L-pad'?

OK, which one in series and which in parallel?

Hit the nail on the head with that one

R2 is the larger value..

I really do hope you used a specific design, (or used CAD to design it..) rather than going "gee I think 4khz sounds good, look at the 4 ohm crossover chart and then selecting the values"..

If the impedance or response is not flat at around the crossover point, it will not sound good - if the impedance is much higher you will get a nasty peak..
