ok.. after tryign in the install forum.. i'll tr here

how vital is mid angling??? basically i'm trying to design and build my pods to get them the best angle i can get without makign them stick out too much for 2 rreasons.. 1: trying to create teh factory look, and 2: trying to stop the feet of drunk mates going through them. also i dont wnat any part of teh speaker to be inside the door frame, i want the whole pod, and mid to sit on teh door trim.

i've been muckign around and making test pods out of cardboard to experiment with size and shape and stuff and the best i can do withou the pods being too large will not follow the "opposite headrest" rule of thumb... instead it'll hit the oposite window where the red spot is in this pic imagining that hte door is closed.

now i've always been under the impression that tweeter aiming is more important... how true is that, and will that aiming for the mid do the job well enough??

its almost a case of that will HAVE To do.. but things can still change...

suggestions???

thanks

nick

Angling the mid is important but not as much as the tweeter. The best amount of angle would be about half way towards the opposite headrest. The extra angle will make lilttle benifit and will just make ya pods stick out heaps more.

Having no angle would be pretty **** though, cause you can get canelation.

If you could look at some specs for your particular mid it would be good. Most give a response for drivers when they are off axis.
Usually if you can get within a 30 degree angle of axis this is ok.

well, as i said, there'll definatley be angle, dont worry... and in the pic above, thats a bit mroe than half way.. so that oughta do the job...

really i am lookign to get this all done soon cause i'm getting REALLLY fed up with my existing speakers and there is no stock location taht 6 inches will fit in, so end of the day, even if there is a perfect way for me to angle them, but take forever, a not so well angled set of pods that still do the job alot better than flush mounting will take preference if they are simpler to build
