stick it in a sealed box!
why u say that ..... but it wont be as loud as a ported box .. it's gotta be loud and 2 cuft might be to big for a sealed box ?

dude im an installer working in geelong
which 12 hertz sub is it
hertz make a few
the 2cu/f box ported would be okay
id go bigger if u have the space bigger means lower extention and "tighter" bass
keep your port long around 8 to 10 inches
and u should be heard from a few blocks away
ported boxes go louder in certain frequency areas
but lack power handling
sealed boxes give better roll off and u can generaly stuff more power into them and the driver lasts longer to boot thats why most componies recomend sealed boxes over ported
use whateva box fits your car(bigger is better)

A hs300 is STRONGLY suited to a ported box.. As for boxes, I've got no time right now - but do a search, it has been discussed quite a bit before..
well i made the box to day i went with a kinda big sealed box for now untill i get the hertz .. for now a PG 12d is sitting in there it's
35 inch long
13.5 high
13.5 deep so around 3.5 cuft ... and as soon as i get the hurtz .. it will be ported
to what ?
30hz cause the subs aint good at tuning low because they are wierd subs. 3 cubes tuned at 30hz will be great, tuned at 40hz would be awesome for SPL
ohh k thank's ... any chance i can get u to tell me what size and leanght the port's would have to be .... . ill tune it to 30 for music and 42 for SPL

the key to loud SQ is having adequate power in tap, so hopefully you have a suitable amp.
for 'SPL' loudness, yes, tuning the box appropriated is just as important.
with a 3.5cuft box, i'd suggest:
*SQ: tuned to 30Hz, add single round 4x8" port
*SPL: depends on resonant freq of car/cabin and lots of testing; maybe tuned to 42Hz but maybe tuned much higher, around 55Hz, and depends on what frequency you play; try 2x round 4x7" ports
good luck
well i have the PG in there right now .. and i ported the box yeturday ..... it's a 3.5 cuft box with a single 12 and a 3.5 inch port ...and it'e about 16 inch long ... it tune's the box to 22 hz .... and IT"S **** NOT EVEN LOUD PLZ HELP

22Hz? for a 12" sub? what was the idea of that? the tuning frequency is simply way too low, think about how much music contains notes that low (not alot), so no wonder it sounds like crap, lift it up closer to 32Hz + and im pretty certain you'll be alot happier. i mean i had my 18's tuned to ~24Hz, basically never got anything to play that low aside from test tones, simply because all it is is shaking, not really a 'note' so to speak, anyway change your port bud and give the 12 a break
