i've done a search on this, but couldn't find any information in regards to the prefab hertz hi energy series in a band pass box. They are on sale at rm audio, and just wondering if any have had much experience with these, SQ wise. Gernerally, from my understanding, band pass boxes aren't particular good for SQ

i have one, though cant really comment much, used it for few hrs off a bridge v12 f400 then gave it to a friend, now its back with me and sitting in my room
i remember it didnt go as low as a JLW0 with same power in sealed box. but maybe coz the thing was rated to handle 450WRMS while i only poured 150WRMS into it. build quality of the box was very good.
at that sale price, it worth the money for me coz i didnt need to build a box for it and im sure given enough power it will sound very nice

its on sale for 400 for the HBX 12 inch, and i think Dr. dB is selling his 10inch....
so Dr. dB, care to shed some light on how these prefab Hertz bandpass boxes perform?

i heard the one marc used to have. it was pretty good for what i think was the 10". not the cleanest of SQ setups, but very good none-the-less, so would keep most enthusiasts very happy.
BP boxes can be good. they just need to be well-designed to suit the sub. i personally have no design-experience with them. but i figure hertz have done a good job as the results are good.
worth considering if you're after a simple no-brainer setup.
