Which are the good car audio shops in Sydney or Central coast for hi-end SQ brands?
I live in Newcastle, NSW (about 150km out from Sydney) and am interested in getting a hi quality sounding setup installed in my new car, but living in Newcastle is proving a hasle since none of the car sound retailers here have the hi-end stuff in stock, let alone on demonstration boards.
I am intersted in Focal, Infinity and Boston for speakers. One of my previous cars had Infinity Kappa 3-way splits and I loved the sound from those. But from a lot of reading I have done Focal and Boston seem to be very highly recommended so I would like to be able to give those a listen.
Also, any recommendations on amps would be appreciated. Audioson seems to be one that is popular.
So what I am after is some recommendations for shops in Syndey or on the Central coast that have a least some of the brands I have listed on show. Also any online stores that have prices for these brands would also be appreciated for the sake of price comparisons.

Pretty sure
www.webaudiodirect.com have Audison prices listed.
The problem with high end stuff is that it is very hard to find on a demo board. What you would be best to do and go to a meet where you can listen to gear installed in a car, and make your mind up from there.

In Sydney, InTo Sound in Bondi Junction and PD's Car Audio in Hornsby stock Audison and Hertz products.
If for any reason they can not help you please email me at

Thanks guys.
Also, while im at it I would like to ask RM Audio a question relating to the Morel Supremo tweeters which I noticed you are the AU supplier (?) of.
I recently read a bit about these in Incar Entertainment mag and they gave them a very good rap. I am seriously concidering a pair of these for my setup.
My question is though, what would be a good set of matching gear to go with these? Im a noob when it comes to matching components so I realy wouldn't have a clue what other drivers would go well with them. Also is there anywhere these can be listened to?
My car is a Magna TJ so I am looking at a set of 2-way splits for the front and for the moment no rear fill and possibly a sub and 1 good amp to power it all, most likely Audioson.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try Auto Acoustics in Alexandria. Check
www.autoacoustics.com.au for their address.
They've stock high-end car audio stuff. Focal, Boston, Dynaudio, PG, Alpine, etc.

Thanks heaps Daboolz. They sound like they have a good range of quality gear.
Do you know if they have most of those brands setup on boards though? I am mainly interested in shops that have them setup so I can compare the brands before I make a choice since I havn't actually heard most of these brands before other then Alpine.
I am particulary interested in comparing the Focal Utopias and the Boston Pros. Hopefully Auto Acoustics will have both on demo boards.
I will give them a ring on Tue anyway to find out. thanks again.
Keep em comming guys. I am still looking for a place that has Infinity gear on show. I would like to hear what Infinity's latest gear sounds like.
Cheers

You can use any LRx or VRx to run the SUPREMO tweeters with a mid bass.
I would suggest you check out amongst other things the Hertz HV1600 drivers which I personally use with a set of Supremo's.
You will not find any dealers with demo sets running.
SUPREMO's are a bit like a Ferrari, you can either afford it or not, you dont need a test drive to know its the best, the reputation says it all.

Auto Acoustics have just about everything in the demo board. Ask for Juerg, he will happily give you a listen. Alternatively, The Lifestyle Store have many good brands in their demo boards at both stores and they are maybe a bit closer to Newcastle.

At the moment I am just gathering a list of dealers that stock the good stuff, then I am going to make a day trip to Sydney and do the rounds.
