I'm thinking of Getting a Eclipse 8122.4 12" Aluminum SVC Sub to Run of my z8000 at 500RMS@4Ohm. I like the look and specs (1.3" Excurs) of the Eclipse but want some feedback before i lash out $500 bucks on one.

I want a good sounding and nice looking sub and this one seems to fit the Bill nicely.

Ne feedback would be greatly appreciated...

I was keen to audition the 10" version of this sub based on it's appearance and brand loyalty. The nearest I could find was the 12". I listened too it on the eclipse board. It sounded smooth with a fair amount of authority but seemed to have some overhang and lacked definition. The salesman said that it was because the box in the board was far too big. It might sound better in a smaller box but I went on to look at the Boston Pro and the IDQ. $500 is a good price though as I was quoted $650 just for the 10". All I can say is audition all the subs that appeal and buy the one that suits you best.
