sup guys,

I dunno if any one has ne experience with this amp, but how does the Srx3 compare to the normal combination of a front stage amp and a monoblock. For example, a Cadence monoblock - which produces 400wrms into 2ohm.

The Srx3 produces 340wrms into 2ohm mono, so 60wrms Rms is not really audible, since its therotically less than 1 dB. So does anyone know how the sub channel in the Srx3 performs in terms of controlling the sub and hitting low notes - i.e. does it have a internal dual power supply? or are all three channels feeding from the one power supply? so will there be much audible difference with running a cadence z1000 for example then running a Srx3.

maybe phil kent can give me a hand

The SRx 3 has an over sized power supply, and the unit has a damping factor of 380 (This will deliver incredable subwoofer / speaker control.)
It has been specifically designed to do the job it does.

I won't compare it with nor comment on the Cadence, you must make your own mind up on that.
All I can tell you is the Audison amp uses high grade components, is made in Italy, and will deliver the power it says it will with the typical Audison quality Audison products are renown for.

The reason we recently dropped our prices on the Audison range was to enable people looking for "Budget" amplifiers to afford Audison quality.

The specs from audison srx brochure also shows that the musical max consumption is onli 38amps. It seems to me that its very efficient, as it can put out a total of 505wrms and onli draw 40amps. So does that mean i can still keep my 8 guauge cabling with my 40amp fuse and run this amp of it?

thanx phil,
lotulu
yeah u should still be able to use 8g stuff, even the onboard fuse is only 30A, which seems very efficient considering it can output ~500wrms @13.8V otherwise i dont understand

lol..that means the amp is around 80% efficient? wtf?
maybe they have been conservative with thier fusing, so u can't use them for playing test tones

At the end of the day there is only a couple of questions people really should ask;

Does it sound good ?
Does it deliver the stated power ratings at the frequencies it is designed to reproduce ?
i.e Does the sub channel produce its rated power at sub frequencies ?
Is it reliable ?
Does it use quality components ?

All the above questions were answered with a resounding YES in the reviews the SRx 3 has had.

well i have no comparason to the audison stuff as i have never heard it but my sub was put into a sealed box today and it sounds awsome and goes really low. imo its up to you what you like and your budget. but i am just another person to say i am very happy with the cadence gear....
my 2 cents...

oh, i wasn;t particularly referring to cadence gear or specific brands, but i just comparing the SRx3 to monoblocks, and how they rate up against these amps.
Anthrax
Compare it with other 3-channel amps - not that there are that many decent 3-chans out there tho!
Subatomic
this amp sounds good

i was planning on getting coustic amps - 2x60 and the 1x400 amps but the audison works out cheaper and may actually be better than the coustics
