i've been thinking about a sq quality sound system and have started to go with cadence, i have allready got the zxn-6k's in the front and looking at the 4 X 150w rms amp (not sure of the model number...) am i heading the right way for sq? if cadence is good for sq what model should i go for the rear?

dead keen for some ideas for a sub set up in the rear of the lancer too, so if any one has any ideas please let me know...
PartyJase
what kinda budget do you have to work with?
KroniKa
what ever it takes to have great sq dude, this car is getting all of my income so i'm keen for any suggestion lol...
Walkinshaw
the A4 would be an excelent SQ amp for running active fronts.
KroniKa
hmmm they are a nice bit of gear, you know what one of those retails for by any chance?

hey buddy, what are those front speakers?
are they splits/coaxs?

how did you mount them exactly?
MDF ring?

where did u place the tweeter? (if applicable)
Marc
SQ is what you think sounds good

All depends on your budget. Cadence, with the exception of their SPL specific products, is a entry level to mid level product.

While it displays nice characteristics, I personally don't think it's up there with the likes (and price range) of Focal, Audison, Boston, Alpine etc.

Shop around and audition everything before you buy it so you can make an informed decision yourself

Good Luck and welcome to the money pit that is Sound Quality
Shieldsy
when i was looking for splits i heard the cadence splits in the same price range of the polyglass's and IMO they didn't come close to the focals... but maybe that was just the board... i heard them both at diffrent stores
Provo
Amp wise....would you compare them to Kicker?
Macca
If your aiming for SQ the new prices on Audison amps will help you alot!

i would sway towards there quality

At the risk of "The Rath of the God's" and everyone else out there, I would say that if your on a tight budget then Cadence is something to consider along with Response and Jay Car stuff.

It is Bang for Buck stuff for sure and on a budget you can make a good SPL systems (as Scotties car has shown), SQ wise many people have made some pretty decent systems with products I would rate lower than the Cadence, so if you do it right you should end up with something at least 1/2 decent.

There goes Phil. walking that tightrope again...

DONT LISTEN TO THEM!!!

it all comes down to the installation!
it's no use spending 10k on a system if it's not installed proply.

i think u will find if it is done correctly you would score pretty well in a SQ comp if it is all installed and tuned good.

my gf's car is running $55 tweeters and casue they have been tuned and adjusted well they sound awsome and i wouldent change them for the world!
Marc
who'd you get to tune them then ?
Fudd
hey i could make a voxon speaker sound good in a car!
Damon
Gotta agree here, I've heard some cars using primo gear sound woeful, and on the same token I've heard (and built) cars with low budget gear that, when tuned right - sound awesome!

It ain't what you use - its the way that you use it!

$10,000 FRONT STAGE AMPS - MY ASSSSS!

Damon
'i seem to love the sound that comes outta them' - Fezz

You can't get any more 'SQ' than that, Fezz!

PS. I probably can't make it to Auto Expo myself, sorry...

LOL

I have some polyglass 165V1 splits in my liberty running off the Cadence Z4000 amp, and an alpine type S sub. I quite like the sound, but im not sure if im causing probs by having a Kenwood EQ hangine off the front RCA outputs of my 4 volt deck, as the kenwood i believe is not 4 volt capable.

either way, i like the sound, but im iffy on the JVC deck i chose (KDSX985) and may look at an alpine later down the track.

cheers

Yeah, i would second the Focals.
Shieldsy has it on the mark too, i was looking at Focals at about the same time and i found them to be much better and at the time cheaper than the 6k or 6's.

Cadence will release there New S.Q products next month see website zylux.com.au
Marc
Tis True. It seems Cadence are adding some higher end Sound Quality focused products to their product range.

Read my thoughts on the new SQ splits in 12V Industry News forum.
