i plan to change most of my current system soon and was considering on getting a single W7 12" sub but now ive seen the ads of the new W6V2's which look like a smaller W7.i want to know if the new W6V2 is a good SQ sub.iam not sure which one to choose the single W7 12" http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/12w7.html or two W6V2 10" http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/10w6v2.html i have a JL 1000/1 which i plan to power the subs with and would like for the spl of my system to be around 130db,the system will be in a wrx sedan.
which setup should i go for?
or should i consider other subs just note i want to keep the weight down, they will be in sealed boxes and i am only using the jl 1000/1 for my sub/s
any help/comments would be Appreciated

the w6v2 and hte w7 have exactly the same sq up to 500w and after that the w7 has more linearity while the w6v2 drops off.

cost of course is an issue when you can almost get 2 w6v2's for the price of one w7.

or you could consider idmax which is bout the same price as the w6v2

i currently have 2 Alpine dddrive subs would changing to any of these subs would make a better SQ system?
or should i stick with the dddrives?
Maz
Yes the sound quality would be better than the DDDrive subs.

Also i would go one high quality sub over two subs.

Why are you set on JL subs? i would be looking at Adire audio and the IDMAX for cheaper subs that perform just as good.

Do you say that based on auditioning both the JL's and the dddrives Maz?

Sethor if you are unhappy with the sound of your current subs and like the sound of the JL's better then yes you should change, otherwise i see no point. Both the JL's and the dddrives will be excellent for SQ. If memory serves me right one of the best NZ pro SQ cars also uses dddrive subs in a WRX sedan.

Unfortunately i havent auditioned the w6v2's or the w7's to be able to give a comparison of how they sound relative to the dddrives.
