About to start install all the gear in the next week but havent decided if i want to use a couple of the items yet. Any input would be great
HEAD UNIT Sony MEX-1HD
FRONT STAGE Dynaudio 5.75 220MKII
REAR FILL Morel Dotechs or Integra
FRONT STAGE AMP Tru Technology Copper C7
SUBWOOFER IDMAX 12"
SUB AMP Soundstream Trantula 880/2
Head unit stays despite what some of you think about sony.
Was thinking or replacing the dynaudios with the 7s or a 3 way system for more midbass
The rear fill is purely for when i have people in the back and will on very low volume
Everything else im pretty happy with but open to suggestions
Thanks Scott

Depends.. Are you happy? Do you wan't to spend more money? Do you need to impress your mates? Will you notice the sound differece?
I think your answer will be....nope .
Your system looks good on paper, maybe better fronts, but after that you will be throwing money into it without any REAL gains that will standout, only little ones.
Wait until it's all installed and post back letting us know how it sounds.

Yea i'd go with midbass upfront. 7inch 3ways splits woudl be awesome.
Also i'd get a headunit iwth time alignment, and maybe an EQ. This will allow u too tune the system perfectly.
Alpine have headunits for $800 that work perfectly

i think i'll go with micks suggestions on this, you cant tell what to fix until you've heard it anyway....remember sq is a personal thing....what mmight sound awesome on paper might sound crap to you, what might look crap on paper might sound wicked with a bit of tlc...

thanks for the input. dont worry i wasnt going to trade in my 4000 grand deck for a 800 deck. mind you the 4000 price tag is a bit steep for a head unit with a hard drive. mind you its so much better the the panasonic deck with a 1x speed burner plus has the advandage od memory stick.
thanks for the advise. i get it up and running and make my decisions from there.

MAD system! theres what around $7500 worth of amplification alone there but id be putting a larger (ie bigger, more midbass as you say) front stage in it, that IDMAX is going to get pretty busy, and the copper is a lovely thing, so might as well push its potential further

yeah definately go 3 way dynaudio, you'll love them. you're spending that much on a front stage amp... you might aswell go all out with the speakers.
not that the 220s are bad.. but the system 340 and 360 are just better IMO
hey you going with tru for front amp... why not get a tru tech hammer for your sub amp?

over $1k street price... how much over depends on the dealer and your bargining skills.
but you have to take into account the additional cost of installing 3ways.
or another idea if you want to spend even a bit more is go with a dynaudio esotar set.
btw i'm sure you realise the tru C7 has no crossovers... are you planning to use the HPF off your headunit?

id recommend getting the 7 inch woofer for extra bass and even upgrading the tweeter to the md130 or even esotar as sumone mentioned before
also take into account that its much easier to get a 2 way setup perfect ie imaging, crossovers etc, then to do the same wif a 3 way. personally id prefer a perfect 2 way system than a compromised 3 way system, but hey if u have the money and time go for it.
if u were to go three way, id prolli get the 8inch woofer too
