With the overall space limitations in an XR8 ute it would make sense to me that the trade off between running an active front stage setup using the PXA and filters built into the amps, versus simply using one of the 1505s and the passive filters supplied with the Dynaudio kit, would lead me to use the later. Sure the active set up might possibly sound better to you, but you'll need to squeeze in way more gear for minimal, if any, SQ benefit.
Also, on the four versus two woofer front, two woofers in ideal sized enclosures will most certainly sound better than four in enclosure half the size they should be. While squeezing four in may be cool to look at, two will still get friggen loud anyway.

I agree with all that you say Damon, and thanks for the opinion. I was just wanting to freshen up my install and do something different with the four subs (maybe put them in the back with a tray install, as i want to test myself this time around). I will try active and semi active to see how it goes, and think that i might lean towards semi, as my mid and tweet could need delaying relative to the mid bass, plus giving it a gutload of power.
