Full Version: Can this tweeter be repaired?

Hey guys,

Got a Dynaudio MD100 that just blew don't know how it happened, but now it doesnt work and reads something like 200,000 ohms across the terminals

Can it be fixed? i hope so

One of mine has as well except its not the coil, but the actual silk dome has come away for no apparent reason. To answer you q, i dont know, sorry.

send an email to total recoil, they may be able to fix it for u.

but both might have to be done at the same time to keep them sounding the same.

ifnot u should be able to buy a single new tweeter!

It can be done, but repairing a tweeter is far harder than a normal speaker and I am not sure if there are any places in Australia that can do it. It may be cheaper to find a replacement.

I would check with the Dyn man. It is Hutch on these boards isn't it???

I would ether get it done by dyn or look for a replacement. As u pay for the sound they produce and somebody like TR it could sound different after fixing

Guys, please email me with the details and I will do my best to get them replaced under warranty in they are not burn't. The dome coming unglued problem has occurred before and should be warranty.
