Ok ive narrowed it down too 2 subs, so which one's better- Digital designs 9512e or Image Dynamics IDMAX12 V3. oh and which Audison LRX series amp will juice it up?

amp wise... if you want a audioson LRx series you'll pretty much have to go with the 1.400 monoblock. it makes a good 900+wrms at 1 ohms. it would be hard to beat price/performance wise. but there are quite a few others sub amps on the market so keep your options open. personally i'd be looking for something with a bit more powerful considering the subs you are looking at.
i haven't heard either so i'm not going to comment too much about which sub to get. both are becoming increasingly available in australia. so you might get a chance to hear both at a meet or something. i don't think you could go wrong with either really.
although i hope you realise there is quite a difference in price between the two. how much is a 9512? i'm pretty sure it would be way over $1k. idmaxs are only ~$800. might be a fairer comparision between an idmax and a lower DD sub unless price isn't an issue.

Yeah, the DD retails for ~$1300 and the ID ~$800... so they are pretty different subs...
I would go the IDMAX because of the price, plus it will use the power you have better than the DD as it would like 1500wrms+!

I heard the lowest rand 22 something?? DD wooffers and they were sooo sick, have heard the 99 seriosu and they rocked too, so i'd say anything im between is gonna rule all, so i know when i upgrade subs i won't consider anything but what DD's to get

IDMAX for very good SQ and loud,
DD for good SQ and very loud
DD will require more than an LRx can put out, maybe get a 9512 with dual 1ohm coils and use one LRx per coil....
The IDmax would still be my favourite sub sound quality wise, because its cheaper than the DD woofer by quite a bit. Thats the only reason though.
Power the IDmax with 800wrms and u'll be pumping some nice tunes.
How much of a budget do you have though?
