hi all
first post!!
just wondering, does anybody have information on rodek amplifiers. i know that they are highly regarded amplifiers - up there with the likes of sinfoni, brax, audison and b.k. butler amps - but anyone have practical experience with them? what is the tone of them like (neutral, flat, dull, bright... etc...)
a guy i kinda know just bought a new audison 4 channel and wants to offload 2 of his now somewhat old-ish 2x75watt rodeks.
they'll be used to drive dyn system240esotars in the front and a 27 utopia.
input anyone?
cheers

Probably they are not a 4V or 5V compatable unit.
I would suggest looking at a new amp given what they are driving.
Follow your mates lead..... Go Audison !

I can't see any reason why the Rodeks wouldn't do an excellent job. I had my 240 Esotars running off an Aura 4 channel, (not an exotic amp) and they sounded superb. Remember the difference in sound quality between mid to high quality amplifiers (and even some very cheap ones) is extremely small, in fact myself and a few CAA members sat down one night and listened to two different amps in enormously different market segments and no-one could tell the cheap one from the very expensive one. Actually, that reminds me, it must be time to hold another listening evening, anyone interested in listening to the new Image Dynamics splits, Esotars and the new ARC audio amps?

hmm..
yeah i'd love to have a hr100 in my boot, but, unfortunately the back pocket and better half won't be approving that any time soon... thats why the rodeks seemed like such a good proposition, but perhaps i'll just keep my ear to the ground and find something else to consider.
i work in a high-end hi-fi store here in canberra, and picking the difference between high and low-end amps is relatively easy for me, but yeah! i know of many "lower end" amps that walk all over their "higher end" brothers and sisters!
cheers for the advice
