Has anyone own or have heard the new Dynaudio MK 240 Esotar splits. i just saw it on their website and i am very curious about their sound.

They should be good.

The Esotar tweeters are up with the Morel Supremo's in sound quality.

they're the best!! (in my opinion...)

i'm just a big fan of the natural, detailed and low-distortion dynaudio sound.

if they can successfully make a $128,000-odd home speaker (the Evidence Masters) i reckon they know a bit about speaker engineering... christ even my contour1.1's are incredible...

sorry... bit off topic, but yeah.. i'm a fan

Obviously I am somewhat biased in this regard, but to quote a few things I have found on the Esotar tweeter on the web

http://www.merlinmusic.com/vsm_wht.htm

"The Dynaudio Esotar is the most realistic sounded tweeter ever developed"

http://www.speakerbuilding.com/content/1036/page_2.php

"The Esotar only has only a 'minor' problem, it is very expensive!"

I have had a pair of these in my car for some time and I can only say they allow me to hear details in the music that no there speaker system I have listened to revealed, including the normal System 240 with the MD-100 tweeter.

Dont suppose you could post up the RRPs of the Dynaudio range? Or PM me, i will be needing a new front stage in a few weeks.

i just got my dyn 240 Esotars installed this week (being finalised this weekend), and what can i say.. they are sweet! (and im not even past the burn in period). They can handle anything u throw at them, and the detail is phenomenal, id describe it as a very mellow kind of sound - it just sounds so natural.. "the way its sposed to be"
one thing i can say though is that it is an absolute ***** to fit! i have my tweet in teh kick panel and basically i can onli press the accelerator wif my little toe lol.
if you have teh money i would definitely try them out, later on ill prolli be going active so hopefully there will be even more improvement
cheers
