Having not heard these speakers:
Phoenix Gold 6.5" Titanium Elite 300 Watt RMS 2 Way Component
I'm just curious how they sound??? I'd feel edgy about buying a speaker without hearing it so where may i be able to do that in VIC or SA???
Something about that 300wrms and Elite that interests me
Any opinions on them??

no idea how they sound, but Boston Acoustics make a 2-way set rated to 400WRMS and with the name 'pro' in its title - one up!

they are awesome splits
i had some in my car for a few weeks, loved them.
eventually had to give them back to PG as they were only a loan pair
if their was one pair of splits i plan to buy in the future when funds allow, it will def. be a set!! maybe even the 3ways *drools*
just give them PLENTY of power, they will eat every drop of that 300wrms up with ease

do they go as loud as the power suggests????
or is sensitivity a big issue when you start getting that sort of power levels???

put it this way
i had 2 x 15" titaniums in the car at the time, putting out as much as 148db during burps. ie: SPL inclined boot.
I had to turn the front stage down as it would go so loud that the subs started sh!tting themselves when the splits were being used at max potential. (i was giving the titanium splits around 350wrms each)
they are very very loud, go very very low and sound great while doing so! not to say the bostons arnt a great split though, they definately are! although the PG's are different to the average joe on the street, have better/stronger low end imo and just generally nicer sounding.
check out some of the u.s forums, the guys over there love them!

Take a look at the Dragster High Tech series. I'll be dammed if the tweeters aren't the same as the PG Elites. They have an incredibly smooth and detailed top end and sell for a fraction of the cost at just $699.

John A actually has the 2 way set up. I sold them to him so am fairly confident about that.
The PGs are getting rave reveiws from all who hear them but a trip over here(vic) may help you decide as I know John will be happy to let you listen to em.

I actually auditioned John As speakers tonight and was very impressed considering its "just a 2 way set up". The midbass was awesome for 6s and female vocals were very sweet. The highs were smooth and detailed. All in all I would rate them very high;y for a 2 way set up.
At the moment Johns using pretty much factory locations but given this limatation the results are spectacular IMO> In custom install thgey would be even better which is saying something
