Can somebody shed some light, right now i'm lookin round for audio gear and dunno wat2 get for a system.
I've heard good things about jaycar, n heard em alongside a alpine amp and pioneer headunit. I do enjoy the quality and think well of it BUT at the same time ppl is telling me to go all cadence (except head unit) the similar prices and better looks towards the cadence side got me wondering wat to get.
i have a vr berlina and a $1500 max budget, currently lookin at gettin:
2x 6.5" Jaycar Response woofers with a 1" titanium dome tweeter (front)...$165
2x 6" x 9" Jaycar Response woofers with a 1" titanium dome tweeter (rear)...$190
1x 15" 300W Response Precision Double Woofer...$350
For a headunit im thinkin of getting a pioneer DEHP 7500MP and as for the amp, well something made by Alpine for sure.
Any feedback, comments, recomendations would be helpful. thanx.

With $1500, you should be able to get a reasonable set up for that kind of money! Lets start with the basics:
For the HU, I'd be suggesting a JCV s995. Top little unit with all the functions that you could ever want! Has MP3 functionality as well. RRP is $495 but can be had for about $400 from places such as JB.
For the front stage, how about some Hertz HSK165 components. Excellent split for the price, and should provide a solid foundation for the rest of your setup. I think that they can be had for about $300 from the online store, haven't checked lately!
For the rear stage, I'd just be getting some 6.5" 2-way coaxials, the Jaycars or something similar from Alpine. I'd be looking to spend around the $100 mark.
For the amp, how about a Coustic 481QE? It is a four channel variety. Excellent amp with excellent crossovers, and is predominantly focussed towards SQ rather than SPL. Bridged it will supply a sub with 240W, which should be ample enough for daily use. Can be had from JB for around $450 if you are a keen bargainer.
Then for the sub, I'd probably be going for a Pheonix Gold Ocatane R series, RRP of $179. There are a lot of people discovering the joys of these subs, although I must admit, I have never heard them. But do a search for 'Octane R' and I'm sure you'll come up with something.
That leaves about $100 or so for wiring and material for the install! This IMO would be an excellent daily driver system!
I would stay clear of advice from people recommending you to stick with one brand, you can get a much better balanced system by mixing and matching components!
Cheers...Mitch

Depending one what kind of features you're looking for in a headunit, you'll end up paying about $300 - $500 for quite a decent one.
Secondly, rather than investing in rear speakers concentrate on getting a nicer front stage. Perhaps look at getting a 3 channel amp (just for example SRx-$697), or a cheaper one. That way, you can run your splits and sub of the one amp. Then buy some splits for about $250 and a sub for about $200. It'll total up for around $1500 maybe a little over. There's quite a few brands floating around the market, so be sure to try out to find what you like. Brands you could look at are: Audison, Hertz, PG, Focal, JL, Alpine, etc, etc, etc, etc.
Good luck and let us know what you go for.
