Hi,
I have decided to try and use 2 8" subs in a free air arrangement in my monaro. Mainly due to the fact I can't afford to lose ANY boot space.
Has anyone got any suggestions on what might be available? I am after SQ not max SPL or 15hz performance. But given the small diameter long throw would be prefered.
I realize the performance will be limited, due to the smaller driver, but thats all I can use.
Thanks
Regards
Jamie
What model monaro?
Im not sure if you can fit 8inch subs on the parcel shelf without cutting metal, cutting metal is illegal.

Its a new series 2 monaro.
Looks like I have found a way of shoe horning in a 10" now. Provided it will work in a SMALL box. Less than 1cu foot.
OK, so anyone have advice on a SQ 10" sub that works well in a small box?
THanks
Jamie

I'm not sure what the rear seat setup is like in the Monaro, but I chose to make a sealed enclosure from one of the storage bins on either side of the rear seat of a 200SX.
Saves cutting any metal, you get half the enclosure already made for you [lots of MDF bracing on back, plus new front baffle] and you get a proper sealed enclosure without losing any boot space.
You might also consider an enclosure using an Aperiodic membrane to minimize box size- quiz Incar Phil on this one- he can supply kits.

Several systems I know of have used the Dynaudio MW-180 9.5" sub in an aperiodic set up on the rear shelf which takes up almost no space and sounds very good.
