When I ever get new front stage. I want to do it porperly....I will be building the pods myself. What I would ike to know is, Do you angle the pods to the driver/ Centre of the car/ and how high do you angle them?

Also is it better to have tweeters up near console or towards the pods????

I hope you can understand what I am trying to ask?

Thanks in advance

Well i didnt build mine...but the ones i have are angled toeards the opposite side of the car at about the top of the seat bottom. As for tweeters i dont know about this...in all the manuals i have read they advise components to be installed closly together to avoid seperation. As an example... i find it intresting that a lot of northfild cars have tweeters/mids in the kicks or lower doors (like mine) where as a lot of MCS cars have mids down low and tweeters on the a-pillar...? So yer...

Well i have had the tweeters in the kick and in the vents in my car. Tweeters in the vents made the seperation very notable between th edrivers and in the kick you cant tell theres 2 speakers down there.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this subject????

I was sorta thinking of aiming the Splits towards the opposite side of the cares B Pillar. EG: driver side aims towards wot would be passenger's head????

Does sound right?

as a basic starting point for split setup that i use before going on and tweaking etc:

* try get your locations as equidistant from the listener's ears as possible. for this, kick pannels are generally the most feasable...

* have all your components close together. i've never understood the logic behind placing your tweets high-up in your doors/a-pillars etc... sure it may raise your soundstage, but you can do that better with propper setup to begin with and kick-pannel mounting.

* as a start, i try to angle/point my tweet and mid towards the opposite side headrest (e.g. left hand pod pointing to right side headrest and vice versa). then i go about tweaking the setup and perfecting it...

hope this helps.

An aquaintance of mine made up a simple "base" with which it was very easy to make changes to the angles of his tweeters while he was in his car listening.
He basically had to experiment. That's it.

My Soob had tweeters on the dash with mids in the doors and they sounded awesome. Maybe I was lucky with my set up as I couldn't tell that the bass was coming from lower than my tweeters.

The next instal will have a three way front stage...mid/bass in doors, mids and tweeters flush mounted on top of the dash.

I really like to use drivers mounted up high.

I have my tweeters placed in the middle of the car, like belwo the headunit, you know the place where ya throw all ya junk. ANd i recon they sound better their than on the doors or on the dash!!!, (maybe im just crazy) Just have the left tweet facing the right head rest and vice versa!!
