What types of speakers are better at handling very high frequencies (above 17000hz)?

does it make a difference if they are metal or silk? How do the horn tweeters go?

any info would be great, Thanks

depends what you mean by horns, piezo horns tend to be harsh sounding, they are usually designed for high output and wide dispertion, eg. PA use.

my new speakers i have built for home use a vifa tweeter which aparrently have smooth response to 40k, much higher than the human ear can hear, but apparently still makes a difference, they use a silk dome.

cd's dont have data up past 20khz so unless u go DVD or HDCD, there pritty much useless.

you cant hear anything above 20khz.

but with saying that, freq above that do help in music,
instruments such as some horns and triangles etc have freq around 30+khz and actuly help pinpoint there sound, so when u are listening to the music (on a pretty good system or live) it helps to locate where the sound it actuly comming from in the band.
