I am pleased to announce that in 2004, CAAASCA [CAAdB] SPL Competition will be operating under the Internationally recognised format of db Drag Racing.
There are many reasons for this. It is most certainly in the best interests of the "sport" and the industry if the two major SPL Competition organisations in Australia are competing under the same banner, with results from either events being recognised by db Drag Racing.
CAAASCA will still exist in 2004, but will operate under two branches.
- CAAASCA db Drag Racing (Recognised by db Drag Racing & db Drag Racing Australia)
- CAAASCA [CAASQ] Sound Quality Competition
There are many events already planned for 2004, along with the confirmation of major sponsors.
Proposed event calendar (subject to change)
Local Event (Melbourne) January 2004 - CAAASCA db Drag Racing
AutoExpo (Sydney) March 2004 (Date to be confirmed) - CAAASCA db Drag Racing & [CAASQ] Sound Quality Competition
AutoExpo (Brisbane) June 2004 (Date to be confirmed) - CAAASCA db Drag Racing & [CAASQ] Sound Quality Competition
Supernats (Sydney) September 2004 - CAAASCA db Drag Racing
Holden & Ford Show (Melbourne) September 2004 - CAAASCA db Drag Racing
AutoExpo (Melbourne) October 2004 (Date to be confirmed) - CAAASCA db Drag Racing & [CAASQ] Sound Quality Competition
Further to this, [CAASQ] Sound Quality Competitions will be far more frequent and running at many db Drag Racing events.
CAAASCA is currently in the process of training additional [CAASQ] judges for judging, as well as the addition of monthly rotated Training Workshop and local (VIC) [CAASQ] Sound Quality Competitions.
Some of the sponsors for 2004 include:
Cadence, Phoenix Gold, Diamond Audio, Web Audio Direct
Look forward to some great product giveaways or vouchers as prizes in addition to trophies at some events.
There will also be an Overall SPL GOD award for the loudest overall during 2004 in CAAASCA operated db Drag Racing events.
Stay tuned for more information as it comes to hand, as we are busy making plans and bringing you great events for 2004.
