Ok i am planning on changing my subs soon. Currently I have 2 12's in the floor and was just going to swap over the subs over but i am considering 2 or 3 10's since they would need a considerably smaller enclosure which would also be in the floor and should give a tighter sound than the 12's

*which arrangement be best for SQ 2x 12's or 2x 10's or 3x 10's?

*which is better for SQ a common or individual enclosure?

*SPL wise which would better 2x 12's or 3x 10's?

Any help to my questions would be appreciated

Cheers lewis......................

1. Neither - all 3 setups can sound good. 2 10s would have the advantage that they require less box volume than 2 12s/3 10s. (assuming all other variables are constant, if there is less cone area, the VAS will be lower, therefore less cone area will require less box volume..)
2. Neither. (as long as the box is reasonably strong.... - a divider can add strength...)

SPL wise, 3 10s will be fairly similar to 2 12s - the cone area will be quite similar...

1. when you say "neither" do you mean none of these set ups will be good for SQ?
2. when you say "neither" do you mean that no box is better?
please explain so that dummies like us can comprehend

For sound quality go with a single High Quality 12inch.

12inch DD3512 IDMAX 12inch, Brahma, or DD9512.

Something along those lines will go VERY loud and will sound extremely tight as the subs are such high quality.
