i've never heard a magma before
however i have heard and loved the 2012s. They have such a sweet, sweet, sound to them. the quality is fantastic (hand made), high power handling, they go exceptionally low for a 12" driver and just have that world class 'dd sound'.
oh, and if u look in my sig you'll see that mine are for sale
Mr_Bob
numb, if you don't mind be asking, why are yours for sale?

i've heard the magma's.
danm they're a nice sub.
Basshead's hit so low and so hard that i almost wanted to get out of the car... something about 145db at 30hz that makes you sick in the stomach
BlackIce's hit awefully hard too! never has a problem posting big numbers or taking home the trophies!
NUTTTR
The magma's have a sound that makes you sick to the stomach! They produce the sound very very low.... you don't understand till you hear them... I'm not sure about DD's tho, they seem okay, and seem pretty good value...

Numb is selling his 2012s, as he just ordered a 9515.

this kind gentleman has just bought 2 of my 2012s

I am selling them as I am moving over to a single sub system so that i can do a simpler install. I also couldnt resist a 9515 for any longer, always wanted one and yeah, finally gave in The 2012s impressed me so much i didnt mind spending ~$1300.00 on a single sub!
bob
Damn loud too, if you get the power behind them.
Mr Neil
im apart of the magma men too they're a great sub! i dont think a 2012 would compare to them as they're in 2 totally different price ranges. if you want warm mellow low bass then a magma is the best bet
BlackIce
Everyone knows where my alliances lay on this one. I've never known a subwoofer to hit as hard or as low as the Magma do. I'm a firm believer that there are two points in your life, when you think you know what a subwoofer is and when you've heard Magma.

Tune one to 23hz in 2cubes of enclosure and you will no be disappointed, dead flat linear response all the way from 110hz to 27hz. It'll also take 600WRMS doing it.

Do they work for SQL ? There's many a driver out there who had their system drowned out at the lights, in their own car !

So they work for SPL ? Check the signature and come to Final Battle

IMO the only thing good about the 2012 is the DD name attached to it. If anyone disagree's build an SPL system and prove me wrong.
Xristo
how much do these magma subs cost...say for a 12 inch?
Mr Neil
700$ rrp
Xristo
wow 700 bucks...then why is this guy comparing the magma to the 2012? shouldnt the magma be a compromise to the 3512 instead?
bob
I just finished putting my new enclosure together. 4 cubes tuned to 28Hz. With only 200wrms shared between two subs(hardly any power at all!!) firing into the bootlid, its absolutely sickening. The low bass is something I've never experienced before, and I can't describe it. I can't wait to get more power behind them
